No, Bosch. I didn't say it was ridiculous. In fact, I had been to your website and knew of the quote in question. I said your statement was hilarious.
What I found hilarious was that you managed to be self-promoting and claiming to be not self-promoting in the same breath. You said basically (and I'm paraphrasing) "I showed Alex Toth my work, and he loved it. I'd give you a link, but I hate to brag."
Okay, Bosch, that is bragging. If you had said that you'd asked Toth for a critique and found him to be polite and helpful, that's one thing. But when you made a point of how highly he thought of it, that's bragging. Which is okay. I'd brag a little, too , if I got a thumbs up from Toth.
But then you suggested that not providing a link proved that you were not self-promoting or "bragging". Why? You'd already quite clearly told us what the gist of the quote was. The link is redundant.
And in a thread where Toth is praised openly, and we're discussing a review of his of the work of a highly respected artist like Steve Rude that receives far less favorable comments? That's a clear "Hell, Toth thinks I'm better than Steve Rude."
That's funny. The fact that you're bragging like a sailor on shore leave and you don't even seem to realize you're doing it. Hilarious.
