Knut,

That's right, after you responded with 'That's ridiculous', after I mentioned Toth's endorsement of my work, you didn't follow up after I posted his actual quote, where I also added a link in order to ask if you found it to be this ridiculous. Your silence said it all. I understand, though, I've gotten the same response from others. I think the feeling is called envy if I'm not mistaken.

No, Bosch. I didn't say it was ridiculous. In fact, I had been to your website and knew of the quote in question. I said your statement was hilarious.

What I found hilarious was that you managed to be self-promoting and claiming to be not self-promoting in the same breath. You said basically (and I'm paraphrasing) "I showed Alex Toth my work, and he loved it. I'd give you a link, but I hate to brag."

Okay, Bosch, that is bragging. If you had said that you'd asked Toth for a critique and found him to be polite and helpful, that's one thing. But when you made a point of how highly he thought of it, that's bragging. Which is okay. I'd brag a little, too , if I got a thumbs up from Toth.

But then you suggested that not providing a link  proved that you were not self-promoting or "bragging". Why? You'd already quite clearly told us what the gist of the quote was. The link is redundant.

And in a thread where Toth is praised openly, and we're discussing a review of his of the work of a highly respected artist like Steve Rude that receives far less favorable comments? That's a clear "Hell, Toth thinks I'm better than Steve Rude."

That's funny. The fact that you're bragging like a sailor on shore leave and you don't even seem to realize you're doing it. Hilarious.

What's even funnier is that you fell for my feint. You're making it far too easy, Knut.

And when you say:

'Zaki, you're better than this.'

Better than what?

You can't get enough, Brian, I understand, even if you pretend to hate yourself for it. Embrace it.

What feint would that be? From where I'm sitting you're quite predictable. (Or are you just pretending to have done a feint to hide your acute embarrasment? It's okay. Many children do that.)

I take my leave, but I'll be back if someone adds something of value here that's worth responding to. And to those who profess to be appalled at my ideas and my story, but who could not resist this thread, I take great pleasure in knowing that when you each get your copy of The Infidel, you will hate yourself for loving it.
