A guy named Tom Morgan worked pretty steadily at Marvel in the late 1980s
into the mid 1990s on Captain America and Iron Man and also did some
decent covers but completely vanished from the scene subsequently.
Admittedly I don’t haunt the spinner rack like I once did but I haven’t seen
hide nor hair from him in probably 30 years. He was a young guy so I
assume he changed careers but his departure seemed both sudden and
final.

Wow. I didn't realize Lightle passed away. Remember his X-Men Classic covers.

Yeah, COVID got him.  I always liked his work on the Legion of Super-Heroes

Craig Hamilton was great.  I loved the Aquaman costume redesign which was intended to be ocean camouflage.

Other great artists for me who seemed to kinda evaporate include John Totleben (I think I heard he had vision problems?), Adam Hughes, Bart Sears, and Mark Beachum.

Isn't Kerry Gammill doing storyboards in LA?

Tom Morgan is a story artist for Disney. He's on Facebook ans posts fairly often.

James Jean did a lot of covers for DC Comics (Fables, specifically, if I remember correctly.) He moved into fine art.

I was particularly fond of Jerome Moore's STAR TREK covers, during the '80s and '90s.

One guy's art that I remember fondly was Bob Budiansky's . He did a ton of Ghost Rider (Johnny Blaze) covers back in the day and ended up pencilling the last year or so of that first series.

Thanks for the info, Joel. Glad to know he's still working in a related field.

I always had a soft spot for Ron Wilson.

It seemed like has was regulated to Ben Grimm duty (MARVEL-TWO-IN-ONE & THE THING) or an occasional WHAT-IF? story throughout his run at Marvel.

Really loved the SUPER BOXERS graphic novel and it was nice that he was able to have his work showcased in that fashion (I had my copy autographed by Mr. Wilson).

I remember first seeing his work back in the mid-70s and for me, he was the artist I always identified with the Thing.

There are those out in the interwebaverse that constantly criticize his work, but I always believed he gave it his all every month.

Flint Henry (as opposed to Henry Flint.)

He's still around, and buddies with Chuck Dixon.

He did a lot of the Grim Jim Twilley issues of Grimjack (55+)
