Chris, have you given any thought to doing comic strip Artists Editions?

Oh, and I definitely don't want to keep any of you broke. Broke means
you're not able to pick up any of these new books, so I don't want
that. But I'd recommend maybe skipping a meal, never buying 600
thread-count sheets and stopping buying comics by whatever other
publishers there are out there (if any, I'm not sure) just so you're free
and clear for our books...
======
Hey, there's something to be said about a high thread count.

I'm still hoping you guys will attempt to crack the Moebius nut. Nothing
would make me happier than IDW being THE PUBLISHER for English
language versions of all of Jean Giraud's works. Maybe you and Scott
can take his Widow out to a really great dinner.

Let me add, the Moebius thing is purely a wish. No one at IDW has
said anything along the lines of doing this. I just think they should try.
The IDW Blueberry Omnibus has a nice ring to it. I know you guys
would do the best job of any publisher out there.

Without answering anything specifically about possible upcoming books, Artist's Editions or otherwise, I'll just say that multiple conversations have been had with various parties along these lines. Hopefully at some point plans will come together so I can actually talk about these things in less cryptic fashion.

I have never been able to unlock the rights to Rom Spaceknight, despite
years of trying...

Please keep trying, sir!

Surprisingly, given my love of comics and these creators, I have little to no interest in artists editions. My bank account is thankful...

Thanks for the response Chris. I'm sure there's great things to come.
I truly think you're the closest thing the industry has to a modern day
Archie Goodwin and I'm glad you do, what you do.

Well, that's a crazy-flattering thing for you to say, thank you. I would've settled for "modern-day Archie Andrews," but this is better.

"The IDW Blueberry Omnibus has a nice ring to it."

There is an omnibus-like series currently in publication in France (Blueberry Intégrale). It restores the old original Pilote coloring and has a truckload of extras. If IDW is allowed to publish it (Moebius rights being long blocked in the US for still undisclosed reasons) that would be the best choice.

Moebius's teacher Jijé has also done a far less famous western series, Jerry Spring, fully reprinted in B&W in France recently. One of the stories was inked by Moebius when he was Jijé's assistant. It's far less famous than Blueberry (and justifiably so), but easily available...

Good to see Chris Ryall on the forum.  A big thanks for bringing JB's original work to us longtime fans.  I always thought NEXT MEN was JB's most exciting work, and it was a thrill to see the original story concluded and new stories appear.

And the licensed material has also been way cool - STAR TREK and ANGEL have been amazing JB books.  The IDW era has been a creative boon for us readers.

I love the respect IDW gives to Archie and the gang.  (I should give a shout-out to Dark Horse as well.)  The Dan DeCarlo stuff is amazing as are the Sunday strips and dailies.
