I meant the costume design. The face unfortunately is not so lovely ...

I like the job performed on the hair, the back is beautiful !  However, I don't like the way the hair end at the bottom ...

They succeeded in what was probably the most difficult part, her hair but I'm not sure about the rest, especially the "jewel"on her belly and the outfit doesn't look metallic enough. And I hate the high boots.

Really?? Not to belabor the point here, but I don't think I want to see what
you'd consider an unfaithful version!!

Okay, okay, I was just relying on my memories of the Perez run on the Teen Titans (and I confess I haven't red it for a while ...)

However, this one is more faithful to a "classic" design than others figurines released by EM (Havok or the Beast for example).

The figurine is based on the design used for the cover magazine, which seems to be a Michael Turner’s design...

The Starfire JB posted is a Tom Grummett (probably inked by Al Vey.). Which is more faithful to the Perez version than the figurine-which looks to be based on the more recent Mike McKone version.

sigh When did drawing the characters to actually LOOK like the
characters cease to be a concern? That looks like Phoenix having a bad
wardrobe day!

I can see that my DC collection is going to be MUCH smaller than my Marvel
collection!

Richard,

I have been a New Teen Titans and Perez fan for a couple years shy of forever and that statuette has next to NOTHING in common with Perez's Starfire.

I know who Starfire is but never really read the Teen Titans.  When I saw the figure my first thought was "wow, nice Starfire".  Now that I've seen the comparison to the Perez art I see the differences but I still think it looks good on it's own.  Maybe the company is catering to casual fans and not accuracy?  I'm not defending them, just thinking out loud.

I felt the same way, Andy.  Never read a lick of Teen Titans, but thought the figure was quite beautiful.  Definitely not a Perez likeness in any way, though.  A little Dremel action and she'd make a nice Nova.
