Now we get art imitating art imitating art --- the sculpts of the guys-in- homemade-costumes Ross paints these days look even more like guys in homemade costumes. And, seriously, is that what we want our superheroes to look like? Do we really want them to be ordinary?
I once read an interview with Ross where he stated that he likes to make the figures more mature so that they are older than he is to capture the same sense of wonder he had as a child. I remember thinking at the time that that could only be done for a short period of time before all we'd see is old men in costumes.

I don't know... That Flash doesn't really look all that much like the real Sam
J. Jones as Flash. In fact, it looks too much like an Alex Ross p.o.c. (Which I
guess is the point.
The Ming looks pretty good though!
When are we going to get some spaceship models from the 1980 Flash
Gordon? I NEED a War-Rocket Ajax! Stet!

I'll stick with the Bowen Thor I already have. (I'd probably like that new one,
if they were not trying to pass it off as something it is not.)

I'd like to see a close up of Flash's face. The likeness has a sort of Namorish vibe to it the way it looks now. The Ming looks dead on!
