Great to see the Surfer getting mixed in.  With a situation like this where a creator doesn't need to worry about dealing with editors and others protecting their turf the possibilities are endless.  I'd think one of the challenges would be to limit yourself as a writer to not just call in the 'big guns' to solve the problem.  IE: Galactus senses Phoenix and comes to Earth, as do all the other cosmic entities in Marvel.  The X-Men become secondary as they just watch it all happen.  Not the story goal and trying to explain why each isn't there would take up a full issue or two and probably put readers to sleep.  All of us who like to think of those things will dream up our own explanations.  Those who cannot dream up reasons will whine at stores about it (I knew a few too many of those back in the day).  Part of the fun with comics is filling in the impossible gaps (why hasn't anyone figured out where Spider-Man lives with all those webs around for an hour? Because he normally leaps to a different building first to avoid it, or has a secondary type of web that dissolves much faster - stuff no writer would bother with unless they want 1001 word balloons which sadly some do).

Thanks again for a lot of fun here.

JB: Now I’m thinking if/when I run out of ideas on ELSEWHEN, I should start a new “imaginary series” telling the backstory on some of these commissions!

**

Yeah, uh, I think Howard Mackie was about to call you and ask about such a thing...

(Paging Howard Mackie!!)

Masterful page as a whole and that final panel in particular -- love the expansive aerial view and the foreshortening of the Surfer.

One of my all-time favorite guest appearances is Silver Surfer showing up to fight Terrax and Doom in Fantastic Four 260. He was promised in the previous issue, then he showed up and instantly turned the tables.

It's been a minute since that came out. I am loving this!

Ooooh! Ooooh!

May as well go full inter-company at that point (hint hint)!

Guest star... or BEST STAR?

I love JB's Silver Surfer. It's starting to feel like our side has a chance at making it out of this story in one-ish piece.

This is the second time I shouted "Alright!!!" at my computer reading ELSEWHEN. The first time was when the FF appeared. I love seeing the Surfer starting to mount his board. It's a great image.

Thank you so much for doing this series. It's nice to remember how fun it was reading comics when I was a kid. The daily cliff hangers are brutal, but add to the enjoyment and anticipation.

There are some nice imaginary cover commissions that would make some great stories.

That shot of Silver Surfer “diving in”, with the skeg showing on the longboard, is epic. I could almost visualise the wave of cosmic energy he was catching. Fantastic.
