I agree that the Anti-Monitor is out of place in the collection, at least this soon; on top of that, they picked the worst of his two looks to represent.

Do we know the size of the Anti Monitor ? Will he be a special ?

Starfire is great (even if the sculpt doesn't capture the Perez's  touch on Kory's face), but the size of the boobs gives me faith concerning the Power Girl figurine (I know, I repeat myself on this subject ....)

I got Green Arrow yesterday, nice one. I think I will wait for the Martian Manhunter and Aquaman and I will be done with the JLA team.

Seems like I'll have more opt outs in the DC line than the Marvel.

Was always more of a Marvel guy anyways.

The Anti-Monitor does seem a tad out of place.  For a mega figure I think Colossal Boy or Chemo would have been a better choice.

••

I mentioned a while back that I asked a chum living in England to pick up
some of these figures for me, and he went to Forbidden Planet and
subscribed to the series. One way to do it! But I can see I will be
soon asking him to cancel the subscription and contenting myself with
the first dozen or so figures until they start arriving singly Over Here.
Just too many characters in whom I have no interest.

(There are a few of the Marvel figures I have bought even if I had no
interest in the character, simply because I liked the sculpt. Psylocke, for
instance. So far, the DC figures don't seem to be offering a whole lot of
those.)

I saw the list of DC characters and it doesn't look like there is even a single Legionnaire.

I was really hoping for some Cockrum/Grell era figurines.

That's sad news, Scott -- I think the Cockrum/Grell Legion in the Eaglemoss scale would be VERY nice.

:-(

Serious response here, Matt -- innocently enough, I was kind of "looking" for something when this thought occurred to me; the reason it crossed my mind in the first place is because whenever I see a statue or a figurine in some sort of pose other than just "standing there," the writer in me tries to fill-in what the story would be based on the character's pose.  If a character is just standing there then there's not much story to tell, but when they seem to be doing something I find it interesting to try to put together WHY they're standing (or sitting) like that, and what is going on (what happened / what is happening / what will happen next).  For example, as JB has previously pointed out, the Eaglemoss Superman figure is obviously just preparing to fly.

Prior to seeing the pictures of the Captain Marvel figurine I had just made a post in another thread commenting on how the classic "arms akimbo" pose would have been ideal for Captain Marvel, and then when I saw this figure (which is SO close to that pose), I found myself asking "what in the world is Captain Marvel doing, and why is he standing like that?"  It almost seems like he should be holding something, kind of like how the Iceman Marvel figurine is holding an icicle, or how Green Lantern might hold his lantern, or how a Batman figure would look holding a batarang, for example.  The fact that Captain Marvel doesn't have any type of standard "accessory" that is typically associated with the character led me to then wonder what WOULD he be holding?

Like I said, it's a great sculpt, but when I found myself wondering what Captain Marvel would be holding, it kind of took me "out of the story."

Anyway, I honestly wasn't looking for some perverse homoerotic angle, but my first thought was that the pose really made it look like Cap should be holding something, and it went downhill from there.

EDITED TO ADD:  Here's an interesting thought -- just imagine how cool would the Captain Marvel figure look if someone were to add Thor's hammer in that outstretched right hand.  Of course, you'd probably have to add a "fallen Thor" figure to the mix in order to REALLY make the scene work.  That would involve a considerable amount of sculpting, but the "wow" factor would be extremely high.

In March i ordered online the Spider-man figure and Captain Britain,it says to allow 28 days for delivery,a couple of weeks later i ordered Superman, having missed it in the shops. The Superman figure came within 28 days.As of a couple of weeks ago i still had not recieved the first two figures,so i emailed Eaglemoss on Sunday,i didn`t recieve a reply until Friday, saying my payment had been declined and to phone a given number to pay over the phone by card.I did this, wondering why they hadn`t been in touch if there was a card problem, even though i used the same card to pay for Superman, and been using the same card constantly since with no problems.

`My heart sank when i got an Indian voice that spoke very poor English,i explained the situation and that i had recieved an email telling me to phone his number. Here`s how it went...

I recieved an email telling me to phone you`

Long pause

`You phoned this morning?`

`No,you emailed telling me to phone`

Long pause

`What is your order number?`

`E`

Long pause

`A?`

Long pause

`No E for echo`

Long pause

`A?`

Long pause

`No E for elephant`

Even longer pause

I give him the rest of my number,it takes a while!

What did you order?

The Spider-man issue and Captain Britain`

Extremely long pause

`Spider-man double dvd?`

At this point i am thinking `Do i really want to give this person my credit card details`

I say `I think i will leave it mate` and hang up.

Result...I refuse to buy anything else of this company if their customer service is so poor. The man had no knowledge of the products he was dealing with and very poor English,i tried to be patient and speak slowly and clearly, but to no avail.
