The strangest parts get reused…

••

This I have noticed! Building the star destroyer, for instance, I see a lot of "cheating" as standard Lego parts are used in different combinations to create the argle-bargle on the outside of the ship.

It's adding a layer of respect for the designers, realizing they are presented with scenarios each time that resemble the challenge with Apollo XIII, when the NASA technicians had to create a new air filter using only what was on the two ships.

"Create a huge star destroyer model--but use these parts!"

Yep, 'greebles' have really filled in the details on a lot of the larger LEGO sets.

This model star destroyer is proving to be WAY more effort than it’s worth. I’m increasingly convinced the designers actually intended it to be built in Zero G.

Fitting a rocket housing—with great difficulty— and something deep inside the existing assembly went CHUNK, opening a wide gap along the length of the “keel”. It won’t squeeze back together.

GAH!!!!!!!

Not on that scale, but my son had the Ghost from Rebels.

That was a nightmare as bits constantly kept falling off.

The star destroyer has proven almost impossible to assemble in planetary gravity, so I have decided to display the unfinished version in front of my drawing board as an interesting "sculpture".

C'est la vie!

JB, you need to hire an 8-year-old. When it comes to LEGO, they have powers beyond us mere mortals.

True dat.

My son has now built so much Lego, he barely seems to look @ the
instructions, while I’m still stuck in the ‘what’s the orientation of this
image?’ Phase.

Good Smile Company's Nendoroid line of super-deformed characters will be getting...

Nendoroid Batman 1989

Nendoroid Joker 1989

Looks like the Joker is the only one getting different facial expression options...
