Yeah, I can see how that would help. Might have to try that one day!

That Dick Sprang Batman baffles me. The whole point of its existence is to sell to Batman fans who specifically are fans of Sprang's version and they screw it up. Obviously they had photo references of his art style. Mediocrity at its finest. < id="hc_extension_off">< id="hc_extension_highcontrast">< id="hc_extension_highcontrast_back">< id="hc_extension_grayscale">< id="hc_extension_grayscale_back">< id="hc_extension_invert">< id="hc_extension_invert_back">< id="hc_extension_invert_grayscale">< id="hc_extension_yellow_on_black">< id="hc_extension_yellow_on_black_back">

You know how I sometimes say it feels like my whole career has been a waste of time? Mostly, I am being facetious -- but not always. Instances like this really make me feel that way. Comics, it has long been said, are a "visual medium," and yet along come items like this "Sprang" statue (and the Superman action figure I stopped them putting my name upon), and I am reminded that for many the "visual" elements are completely superficial.

I got my custom The Mighty Titan today from Jim Maddox! What an amazing job he did. Not a great pic but he captured him perfectly!

My best friend gave me Black Adam to go with my Captain Marvel. I really like these figures that DC is putting out.

This past week I was at an antique store in LaGrange, GA. and saw this. I wasn't surprised to see a bendable Wolverine figure, but I was surprised to see one with the costume design by JB.

I just did a shoot for Bowen's Hela statue. This is my favorite pic of the bunch.

That Hela piece came out better than the previews!

In addition to appearing to be rising from a bubble bath, the Hela figure is far too literal for my taste. It has none of the weight of Kirby's creation, and looks like a normal woman wearing a Hela costume.

This has been an increasing problem, I feel, with the Bowen statues, as they have shifted more and more to computer "sculpting." The poses, especially, have become very ordinary.
