The Bowen "Action" Spider-Man statue arrived today. Nicely done, tho the blue on the statue is not as dark as it looked in the photos online. Time for some repainting!

Surely that's a typo!! For that price it better include a tiny functioning
engine. And two wishes as well.

Nope. Based on the pictures, it is a truly amazing model, with an astonishing degree of detail.

A 1:12 scale action-figure made of plastic, silicon, and cloth can set a collector back by as much as $500.00 depending on the quality.

$2600.00 for the same scale model of a car, which is a much larger object than a person of that scale, made of steel, die-cast, etc and featuring all kinds of intricate details and small pieces that wouldn't be necessary for a human figure is something of a bargain.

An expensive bargain, but I'm sure they're not making money off of these things based on mass production and a huge customer base. I don't think their profit margin is all that high for such a limited edition item.

It's not a LIGHTER blue I'm after!

I'll probably end up painting it black, as I have with most of my Spider-figures. Another advantage to the PITT brush pens. They're quick and easy, cover well, and when dry the ink has just the right degree of sheen.

I bought a 1/18th scale Mercedes 300SL gull-wing a few years back. Set me back almost $700, but the detail is amazing. That extra boost in size would make a lot of difference.

Coincidentally, I had bought the same 300SL, in the same scale, for around $35 a few years earlier, and I was surprised by how well detailed it was --- until I set it next to the $700 version! Then it looked like it was made out of butter!

I thought it was curious that you didn't like the color of the regular as I could've sworn you've stated before that Spidey should be red & black. Now I have my answer!

I guess, to me, he will always be orange & blue because of the '67 cartoon & the Mego doll from the 70s!

Would love to see these if you have any pics.  Coincidently, I just watched a great piece on the 300SL.

I had never seen one of these in motion.  This guy really enjoys his car.

Here's one that provides a good (if somewhat out of focus) demo of what I'm talking about. Cheap on left, expensive on right.
