Neat!
Particularly nice is the way that the shape of the Minimate 'mask' piece is really well-suited to Mac's unique headgear shape, in a way that most action figures/busts/statues don't get quite right.
Damn - I swore off 'Mates for a long time, because they're pricey (and addictive!), but I might have to renege and buy that set, just because I don't have a Guardian of any shape or size in my collection!

Dave, he wasn't in a set, he was an individually wrapped figure. Collectible Minifigures, set 5. http://minifigures.lego.com/en-us/Bios/Lumberjack.aspx I'm sure you could find him on eBay, or: http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID=100087

I like it. Is that based on the current Avengers cartoon? It seems less angular than the animated style of that show; almost like Cap as done by Bruce Timm.

Hm. They really couldn't do full-on buccaneer boots?

I've seen that design before. It bugs me that the stripes are off-center. Whether one prefers a red stripe at center, as I do, or a white one, the fact of the matter is that Cap is traditionally drawn with a stripe centered under the star on his chest. This design just has the earmarks of somebody saying "Oh, I can fix that!"

That Cap is from a series of maquettes from the 'X-men Evolution' cartoon.

New to the forum. Hi everyone, Mr. Byrne... Ordered the alpha mini mates, not impresed about the second set, but I adore Marrina and so must have all representations. In my opinion my favourite Byrne character together with Beth from Next Men. More of a plastic figure collector, but hey if I like the character, I' ll get anything. Will try to post pics of my 1600 modest collection of pop culture merchandising. By the way, though buying Wanda's statues but one looks lik a martian and the other with the crumpled cloak (which I like) has the wrong hair colour. I can deal with the smut (as in the bishoju version) but not the wrong paint scheme. My next number is Princess 12" from Gatchaman. Excited.
PS: Just realise I cannot post pics from iPad. Will post when main computer is fixed.
