Would you give the Adam West Batman nice abs?

***

I wouldn't give him bad ones. That thick utility belt gave the illusion of a thick waist. Adam West wasn't fat. Sure, he wasn't built like some modern body builder, but most actors back then weren't. That wasn't the standard back then.

They're based on the TV show. Romero had a grease covered mustache.

Should I expect their Penguin figure to have a detachable nose?

Re: Poison Ivy

It says a lot about the current shape of fandom that, not all that many years ago, this was a character utterly rejected as "too goofy" to be part of Batman's rogues gallery. Batman being a SERIOUS character, after all.

Then Bruce Timm gave us an Ivy who was SEXY, and suddenly the fanboys loved her.

LOL I always think back to that episode of the Simpsons
and that quote.

Interesting about Poison Ivy being considered goofy. I
had no idea. I had never heard of the character before
the animated series and I admit that she is one of my
favorites, as is Harley Quinn. I guess Timm just had a
solid way of writing female characters for me. That piece
is just neat.

In regard to Romero's mustache, I guess I always
recognized it, but never thought it was a big deal. I
didn't know until '89 (Burton movie) when I was 15 that
the white skin wasn't makeup. I loved the TV show as a
kid, so I guess I am torn.

I don't think Burgess Meredith's nose prosthetic was as noticeable as Romero's mustache and while I'll agree that West wasn't fat that pic isn't from 1966.

I always thought that the Premium Format Figures were posable, but that's clearly a statue. What's the difference between the Premium Format Figures and the other formats, like the Comiquette? Do the PFFs use mixed media, like fabric costumes?

Has anyone seen a price for the Superman premium format figure from Sideshow? Batman is out of my range at $400 (mainly because I can't stand the base); I'm hoping Superman is the normal $350.

I can't believe I'm considering paying $350 for a figurine.

edit: The Sideshow premium statues have fabric costumes. Hot Toys makes poseable action figures/dolls/toys that have cloth costumes as well (I think they're in the $100-$200 range).

Prior to this thread I did not know Ceaser Romero had a mustache as the Joker. I've only seen the series as a child on a small TV.

Live and learn.
