I think when McFarlane used him in that story in the SPIDER-MAN book, he put him in the yellow-and-blue and the epaulettes became metal then. They were metal from then on. This was before Jim Lee "officially" brought the suit back over in X-MEN.

EVERYTHING the Image boys draw is metal!! When I was doing FOURTH WORLD, I used the Black Racer, with his skintight armor, and as I laid in the metal technique, I found myself thinking "If I did this on everything, I'd be drawing like an Image artist!"

Cloth, trees, rocks, flesh -- in the Image-verse, they're ALL made of metal!

True. Looks like that two-page horror vignette (Colossus´s nightmare) you drew for the HEROES FOR HUNGER X-Men book.

X-PLUS, better known for their hyper-detailed (and hyper-pricey) Toho & Ultraman monster vinyl figures, is coming out with another Robby The Robot:

Just for giggles, here is X-Plus' museum of past figures, including their previous Robbies

There's a new Dr. McCoy bust here.  I liked the pictures of the Spock bust quite a lot and the Kirk bust was pretty good too (in my opinion).  This looks to be a good line.

Really not crazy about those "black diaper" versions. Why not just crop the figures at the natural line of the shirt?

JB, I've always wondered - what are his epaulettes made of??

••

Hm. Why would you wonder, I wonder? And why would they be anything other than cloth, like the rest of his uniform? (Stiffened, perhaps, but not with metal. After all, he needs a full range of movement for his arms, without having to avoid constantly stabbing or poking himself!)

••

True, but he heals quickly. ;-)

"Busts" like that vaguely give me the willies; they look less like busts, and more like statues of amputees.  At that point, just finish the damn legs!

You're emoticon indicates you think you're joking, but as I typed my response (second above), I KNEW there would be people who would read it and think EXACTLY that. For realsies.
