I was very much influenced by John Buscema's designs when I doodled up Mr. T.
+++++

Big John probably got to draw him, didn´t he? That musta been thrilling to see!

JB: Well, those sculpts are just so gosh-darned CUTE!!

Indeed.  However, lack of display space has forced me to pick these up only on a "absolute must have" basis.   I suspect even Landau would be sympathetic to this situation.

The origin issues of Terrax were some of the first Fantastic Four back issues I had to track down, after discovering the series via my older brother's subscription. Such a cool design and powers. Love the look of the axe.

If you look at those early issue, you'll notice it took me a while to figure out the shape of the blade -- curved on the front, or on the back?

I don't remember Buscema ever drawing Terrax. Anybody else know of an instance?

(And, yeah, that would be COOL!!)

When did Wolverine's "epaulettes" become metal?

(Good thinking, Marvel! Bone claws, but parts of his costume. . . . )

Hm. Why would you wonder, I wonder? And why would they be anything other than cloth, like the rest of his uniform? (Stiffened, perhaps, but not with metal. After all, he needs a full range of movement for his arms, without having to avoid constantly stabbing or poking himself!)

True.  Over the years, I have noticed that some artists (not you...) have depicted them with the shiny-surface look, which was obviously wrong, so it looked like plain metal and not like you depict it.  It makes more sense that it would be made like you say.

Well, anyway, with the metal epaulettes, seams on his torso, what appear to be the "Samurai sword" claws and a "who farted?" expression, that piece doesn't find a place on any of my shelves. . .
