I get the impression that you had an easier time drawing Spock in CREW than you did Kirk in FRONTIER DOCTOR and the ROMULANS trade. Did you rely on much reference for Nimoy's likeness? Was it fairly easy to get a "feel" for him?•• Since I was drawing a young Spock in CREW, I had to pretty much "fake it". For Shatner, I used the Artograph to trace photos. Only way I could come even close. Especially given the subtle (and not so subtle) differences between TOS Kirk and TMP Kirk. I think it comes down to that old rule about lines on faces. The more there are, the older a character tends to looks. With Shatner, there are a lot of elements (like that "V") that require lines and feathering, yet which can also add years. GAH!!!!!

Yeah, I'm not too interested in these. My old Citadel lead figures make me plenty happy enough.

Something amusing: I ordered the Women of the DCU statue of Starfire. It's the wrong costume, and not George's face, but at least copied from an Adam Hughes drawing, she looks cute and not slutty. As I was putting the box in the big closet where I store such things, I noticed a star-shaped post-it stuck to one side, on which was written "Thanks, John". What caught my eye was that the "John" was a copy of how I sign it in my autograph. So -- have I been spotted? I have ordered a LOT of stuff thru Amazon and MidtownComics, and none of them have had an accompanying missive, like this.

The LOTR figures look nice but some are displaying poses that are impossible to accomplish with the actual toy.

Those impossible display poses have got me looking forward to the inevitable Lego Lord of the Rings video game, Craig.
On a side note, open invitations are extended to anyone who wants to come over and play Lego Batman with me on my Wii. I've stalled somewhere in the middle of the game because it's just not the same experience playing it solo as it is with a friend.

JB,I prefer the 2nd Women of the DCU statue of Starfire, done from design by Terry Dodson. Less slutty and not full figure but they also didn't use the Perez outfit (which is the best). Too bad. Though the outfit could be worse, they could use her recent one. The artists put on just enough material to cover her nipples and not much else. Starfire new barely there outfit
