Really don't see the appeal in that Christopher Reeve doll. Sure, a good likeness of the face -- but licorice hair and a costume that looks like Captain Action should be wearing it.

Pass!

Kotobukiya Marvel Bishoujo Storm statue. Not sure when the release date is.

Nice Storm except for the "lightning" at her wrists. Literalizing powers in statues almost never works to my eyes.  To me, it looks like she's got her hands stuck in something sticky and is trying to shake it off.

Storm is cute, but the hip/groin area seems off to me for some reason. Too chunky, maybe?  Maybe the torso is too short?

Well, that Storm definitely has the Shunya Yamashita look, but I have to agree that there's something off about her...

Hopefully the lightning around her wrists is optional, like the Bishoujo Ms. Marvel's energy fists were.

The excessively high cut on the trunks makes her look chunky to me. Also, if her hair is being blown up, why is her cape just. . . hanging?

Pass.

Wow does Storm look hippy, odd choice for the Bishoujo line which tries  to cutsie up the character. Makes her look about 5'2" rather than tall like she's supposed to be.

Found this on my doorstep today from HLJ:

It's the S.H. Monster Arts Godzilla action figure, Bandai's answer to Kaiyodo's S.F. Revoltech line.

Very impressive sculpt by monster master Yuji Sakai, and unlike the previous Toho Revoltech monsters, this one has a bit of a heft to it when you pick it up, and it is a lot easier to pose (though the actual range of motion seems more limited).

And no, you can't make him do the infamous "Gojira Shie" from MONSTER ZERO:

(But it is possible to put the Kaiju King in a few dorky poses)

And, as an bonus for the buyers of the first production run, Bandai included a clear plastic atomic breath blast with a stand to hold it up, which unfortunately makes Godzilla look like he's spraying water (and Robby makes a poor Mecha-G substitute).

The few downsides I found was the sculpt around the face made the application of the right eye decal go off-center, and the jaw is a bit looser than I'd like (you can push it horizontally to the left or right, which give him a "durrrrr" expression), and the tail articulation only really works in the up & down, not side-to-side.

Thanks Brad!  I just wish the Yen / Dollar exchange wasn't so horrible right now, because that really made this an expensive display toy.
