Oh, and that picture of Kitty "The Tramp" Pryde...? Just sad. Makes what's
happened to Cassie Sandsmark positively tame by comparison.

Don, the Captain America is as he was shipped--I may need to retouch
some of these guys. I think he's brighter looking because of the powerful
flash on my camera:

The second image that JB posted more accurately reflects how Kitty's being portrayed in actual comics these days. (Thankfully. I don't know where the hell that first image was taken from.)

Discovered this morning that a slight twist will cause Lockheed to pop right off Kitty's arm, leaving only a small stud that will be easy enough to whittle down. Now if I can find a way to twist her arm down to a more natural position without breaking it off, I'll have a Kitty much closer to the one I created!

These figures are lead, right?
Would a little heat, say from a blow dryer make limbs a little pliable?

The problem is the paint. Heat will make the lead pliable, but the paint, I
have found, tends to flake off.

Yeah, Gary's Captain America seems brighter than mine too. (with a better paint job no less) |

I dunno. I like the muted paint of these figurines. When I first saw the DD figurine, for example, I loved that it didn't look like the shinny, bright leather costume of the movie. I prefer the Cap paint job as opposed to any repaint that makes him look brighter, if indeed Gary's Cap is repainted which I don't think it is.

I LOVE that Cap's uniform is so dark, almost as dark as the true blue of the American flag, as it should be.

Its obvious in hind sight for me, but I never thought of that before. And I agree, I like the darker tones better.

Some new additions over the weekend, I just about doubled the size of my collection. These are some spectacular figures, I love them more with each new one I buy. Vision had a few problems around the ankles, he was bent and the paint flaked off pretty bad in the back, and I need to repaint the green areas to get rid of the brushstrokes. Other than that, perfect.
I like the Minimates, but it's just not the same.
