It's clearly not just him, and never has been. He's just the poster boy willing to be the shameless frontman that can sing and dance for the easily distracted pearl-clutching masses while his backers ensure that through him they'll get their agenda through. The democratic process is just an annoying inconvenience to them and he gets them through that. Systematic moves have been made in his favor ever since his indictments and everyone just scratched their chin and moved on until the next move. Do you really think someone like Elon Musk would be so personally committed unless he had something to gain that would otherwise be out of his reach?

Exactly, now it's Carte Blanche for the GOP to do whatever they want in all 3 branches and I doubt there will be any GOP dissenters to object to any of them. The cynical side of me can't wait to see the Leopards eat many faces

He said, “We don’t need the votes,” and “we got more votes than anybody’s ever had.”

People are afraid. Of things like minorities and women and foreigners and Muslims and transgenders. They don't have a reasonable fear of such things, they have an irrational paranoia and they believe all the conspiracy theories they hear about such things because it reinforces their fears. Their fears are based on bigotry really. So, yes, I'd say people are bigots. Nothing new.

The only positive thing I can think of is that he did come away with that clear popular vote win in additional to the Electoral College. In means we're spared the unrest of either Trump's subsequent attempts to overturn the election or a long, drawn-out series of recounts.
Not much of a silver lining, but I'll take what I can get.
Of course, Trump is such a sore winner that we're all going to be compulsory guests of his Gloat City penthouse apartment from now until the end of time.

While certainly part of why she lost, being sexist racists isn’t the only reason. May not even be the biggest.

Disappointed to learn Buzz Aldrin is a Trumf supporter.

And it was the naked sanctioned exploitation of those fears and resentments, mostly compounded by their under-appreciated economic anxiety, that influenced their vote. And what needs to be re-evaluated moving forward is the value of the ground game methodology vs that of social media. We're going to look back at this time as the Elom Election.

I think this demonstrates the way that the Dem establishment is not up for the job at hand. They did not approahc goverining in a manner that dealt seriously with: codifying women's health rights, punishment for insurrection, punishment for illegality (making money off the presidency, talking to foreign leaders when not president) etc.
They've never behaved with the urgency the situation required with the rightward tilt of the Repubs since the Tea Party and accelerated by Trump and co.

Well for starters they could start making an honest play for the constituency that Trump shamelessly caters to, instead of trying to dance around them every election cycle. This is a new generation of voters, they should be up for grabs from both parties, but only one seems interested in doing the work it takes to woo them.

Trumf doesn’t do any “work”. If anything, the opposite. He spews without filters, and lets his supporters cherry pick the parts they like. As I’ve said, one from column A, two from column B.
