mostly devoid of policy substance

Whomever wrote that WSJ article obviously tuned out and assumed what was being said.  Not a surprise since the WSJ leans heavily to the right.

There is one thing that was never disclosed is how much damage he may have cause with classified documents laying around Mar-a-Lago (including the bathrooms)

No way in hell that people the who were not cleared did not read those documents.

So we should just vote Trump? I know you don’t support the guy but what
are you suggesting, here?

My sincere hope is that Trump loses and MAGA mostly dies with him. Those GOP's that said what they truly felt after Jan 6th, then flipped when they seen Trump still had a tight grip, will bash him mercilessly knowing he will have little impact on their careers and income. That is my hope, reality is more cruel than that tho.

I'm afraid Trump will continue to do damage to America for the remainder of his life, regardless of what happens in the election.  The amount of followers he has is too large, and the loyalty he commands over them is too powerful and seems too impervious to, well, anything (evidence, logic, self interest).  I am hoping he is a unique figure in American history.  So far, no one seems to have emerged who commands a similar level of blind, unreasoning, irrational loyalty amongst Republicans.

Party loyalty is quite potent. We see today Brian Kemp, who refused to cooperate with Trump's efforts Georgia, come out to ostensibly bend the knee and endorse him.

The Republicans were taken totally off guard by Trumf’s success. They had not understood how deep White fear ran in so many Americans.

Now they’ve jumped on that horse, they’re afraid to climb off. They are perfectly willing to sacrifice everything America means if they can stay in power.

Apparently,  CNN's focus group of "undecided" voters after the Kamala Harris DNC speech had among the group a full blown Trump voter:
