I wonder if they will be able to defeat the Phoenix again and save Jean? Or will Jean somehow manage to tame the Phoenix?

So much fun to read. Marvel is throwing away money by not being willing to print this IMO. Ah well, at least we all get to enjoy it anyways. Fun trying to think about how this will end, given the desire not to have 'bad' win. Heck, letting the bad side win is too easy, far more fun and challenging I'd think to find ways for the good guys to win despite insane odds. Plus, of course, all of the Marvel Universe in 1980 is available to be used if needed which adds to the possibilities. The X-Men need to be the core, but the rest could provide a MacGuffin of some kind to help. Doubt it'll be the ultimate nullifier as that is a bit too much. Phoenix vs Galactus would be fun, but again doesn't fit. I could imagine the Silver Surfer getting mixed in though as a delay tactic. My money is on the original Jean coming back from the lake to save the day in the end in some way (even if it is by being killed by her duplicate).

And it was by far the right choice. Even just looking at the basic logistics of things, Marvel currently has about half of its many, many books of hiatus because of the virus. Thanks to the digital nature of this project we can enjoy an uninterrupted, as well as un-corrupted, run of JB brilliance.

Doh! Getting old - could've sworn I read it the other way about Marvel earlier but that would've been days or weeks ago so counting on my memory was dumb. Ah well. In the end what matters is we all get to enjoy it. Thank you again Mr Byrne for doing this.

Storm's hands and body language as she opens her heart in friendship to Jean are really lovely. You could just look at the pictures and read this whole scene.

Ororo,
Each time you used that timid, "We're Sisters", line on Jean/Phoenix, you got blasted.
I think that you need an aggressive approach..... :-)

I don't know how JB will resolve this, but I will say that I certainly have a preference that would make me most satisfied. However, even if the resolution could disappoint my expectations, there is no doubt that the storytelling and presentation will not.

I may have said this before but no one draws Ororo or Jean better than JB.
