Yeah, I fudged a bit to get Wolverine into "my" costume. Since there was no actual "origin moment" for the change, I just figured it happened off camera.

******

Well, we did get this small exchange:

I always loved Logan's dialogue around this time. He was always straight to the point!

I just noticed Nightcrawler answered Wolverine with “why not” just like Wolverine answered him earlier. I’ve read that comic 7358 times and never noticed that before.

I always took that to mean this was the first time Nightcrawler or anyone else had seen Wolverine's new uniform.  But it could also just as easily be the first time he had a chance to ask about it.

Nope, JB - but I appreciated the exchange at the time, that's all. :)

"I'm beginning to think the Blackbird was just the Stratojet colored wrong, and somehow that became canon."

--

Could it possibly be that you were the first to draw the actual Blackbird without realizing it?

If at this point the X-Men don't know Wolverine's name is Logan, then Cyclops is having trouble packing his bags; he left the team the same issue that Kitty was being dropped off at the mansion in #138.

Not that I'm complaining, I'm happy to see this new adventure!

And why did Cyclops leave?

I think you may be missing the most important point of my tale, Craig.

Nice hint, JB.

I am enjoying seeing these characters when the most complicated aspect to Wolverine is we don't know his given name. My how he has changed in the last 40 years.
