Now Obama has decided against another debate with Hillary (here in North Carolina, before our primary). Do you think he's more afraid of Hillary or tough questions from Katie Couric?

Hasn't there already been 20 debates? Why do we need more?

Yeah, they might ask him about his hair products and if they were made in America. They may also ask "who are you wearing?" (a question that makes me grit my teeth every time I hear it) and of course, his choice of lapel pins.
It would be fantastic if he did not participate and give the reasons why. Unfortunately, if he did so, the networks would crucify him.

Exactly. What more do these two have to debate about? We've seen them debate the real issues several times now...which is part of what led to the last debate debacle (which centered around the Hilary lying / Obama elitistaccusations, etc., etc. on the basis of needing something "new" for the debate)

The conventional wisdom is that debates don't help a frontrunner much. The frontrunner almost always wants to limit or avoid debates. If their positions were reversed, Clinton would be doing the same thing. To single out Obama for a strategy everyone uses is disingenuous. Especially given that he has already engaged in a reasonable amount of debates. The content of the last debate has little bearing on this. If the last debate had been full of softball questions or arcane policy discussion instead of grilling over trivia, I suspect Obama would still be reluctant to engage in another at this point.
I wish we could stop calling these joint press conferences that candidates engage in these days "debates" too. Little to no actual debating goes on in any of them.

But we have not gotten to the bottom of Flag pin gate, dam, I need to watch even more fox news to get the answers that the liberal media are to afraid to ask. I wish B hoosane had the balls to come clean on this. If he can't be truthful about the pin how can he pick up a phone at 4:00 am.

And I heard that the friend of his cousin once knew a guy who lived in the same town as Abby Hoffman. That means he is on drugs and likes hippies.

I would think that 2 hours or so of cost free time of a major broadcast network should be incentive enough for any candidate for President.

Incentive for what?? As for cost free...it costs the networks quite a bit. People tend to turn the channel when they see political debates. So it's certainly not cost free for the networks.

The ABC debate was the highest rated debate of this political season. In many markets, the debate beat American Idol. So, it looks like a lot of people are still wanting to see what the candidates stand for.
I wasn't talking about cost free to the networks, I was talking about cost free to the candidates. Those political ads cost a whole heaping lot of money. TV stations don't cut candidates a break on ad costs, it would be illegal. They pay the full rate for the time period purchased. As for the networks, they have to spend money to get anything on the air. It's just the cost of doing business.
