Thanks Geoff!

You know, Andrew Jackson used to beat guys to death in bar-fights for besmirching the good name of his whorish wife.*  Plus he killed natives with his bare hands and used that as a campaign selling point.

* - Well, kind of...

After the last eight years I see the party uniting behind its nominee.

There's a difference between the party uniting behind the nominee and the voters uniting behind the nominee.

For sake of argument: If your name is Dick Cheney, everything you do FUCKING SUCKS.  What an asshole.

You have absolutely no proof that Cheney was drunk.

Because Cheney waited 12 hours to talk with the authorities.  Why did he wait 12 hours to talk to the local sherrif?  Was it because he wanted to sober up? Or did Cheney think that he would have a better memory 12 hours after the event?

lots of things point to the involvement of alcohol and shenanigans...Cheney's twelve hour delay, the absence of toxicology reports from the the victim, the Armstrong lady's changing story (first she didn't know about the accident until the SS responded but then she was an eyewitness).

Absolutely, but that's not what I was addressing.  I think the story of an Obama nomination driving flocks of Hilary suppporters to McCain is ridiculous.  I'd surprised if more than 10% (pulling a number out of the ether) of her Democratic supporters voted for McCain in the general election.

That being said, to me it seems, that Obama is far successful at "converting" independents and doesn't rile up the "vast right-wing conspiracy" as much as Hilary does.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Cheney didn't wait 12 hours the sheriff did. Everything he heard pointed to an accidental shooting so he decided to wait until the next morning to conduct an interview. Read the official report.

Okay, so this leads me to believe there was either involvement from Cheney or the sheriff is an idiot.  A guy gets shot in the face on a hunting trip and he doesn't have the good sense to administer a blood alcohol test?!?

Does that REALLY make sense to you, Christopher?  Does it really seem right??  If YOU shot a guy in the face on a hunting trip do you really think you'd get twelve hours to yourself before reporting to the authorities?

C'mon, man.

I think it's because the "vast right-wing conspiracy" thinks they would have a much easier time beating Obama than Clinton when all is said and done.  They just need to make sure Clinton doesn't get the nomination.

What makes you believe the right wants Obama over Clinton?  I would think it's clearly the opposite.

I agree with you, Brad.  It seems to me that rallying the right would be EASIER if Hillary were the nominee -- they already hate her.
