You think YOU find her insufferable?  Imagine if you were a Democrat!  She sure talked a good game but she just rolls over each time... She's another Clinton.  Democrat in Name Only.

I don't need to LIKE anyone in public office... I just want them to do a good job. Most of the both parties are NOT doing that. They have no problem voting to give Bush the go ahead on the war... and continued war spending... even though the polls show that constituents are opposed to it, "Because it is the right thing for the country." But today they(D&R) vote against something I have heard many say is the "right thing for the economy" because the constituents oppose it. I remain confused.

And Michael Moore chimes in, blaming Republicans for the bailout plan.  The plan that Republicans helped defeat...

Mike: I accept that and edit it accordingly from my point of view: You think YOU find Bush insufferable?  Imagine if you were a Republican!  He sure talked a good game but he just does what he wants, grows governments, nation builds, he's another Clinton.

:o)

Hey, is Pelosi still your "home" congressperson?

Edited to add: I think as the "opposition" party (if we accept the GOP as the party in power as they still have the Executive Branch) she's and Reid have been a poor leaders of their party.

Christopher Alan Miller, in response to my question of how many Republicans voted against the bailout wrote:
Do the math.

What math? I don't know how many people voted, Chris, or how many from
each party voted for and how many voted against!

You've got the Democrats who voted against down, surely you can tell me
how many Republicans voted against it.

ANYONE: How many Republicans voted against the bailout?

If Republicans who supported the bailout instead voted against it because of a partisan speech by Pelosi, then they put their egos ahead of what they thought was good for the country.  And Pelosi showed serious lack of judgement with that speech unless she wanted to kill the bailout.

No, Geoff, she's my hometown's congressperson, but I live in Red County now.

I'm working hard to get a Dem elected up here - nice guy, too!  Turns out he and I used to work for the same company.  I've chatted with him at the dem hq.  Hope he wins!

Yes; this is one of those weird, rare pieces of controversial legislation that didn't fall neatly along party lines. You had Pelosi and Bush both lobbying for the bailout and many Republicans and Democrats voting against it.
