I showed my wife a couple of the clips of Couric interviewing Palin. My wife got so upset she had to turn YouTube off.
Palin is so obviously out of her league, just stringing words together in a sentence off the cuff, let alone answering questions, never MIND questions that might require some little thought to make them intelligible.
The only way she is going to come off well is if Biden completely goes off his rail, or if Palin is miked like Bush was for his debates. Which wouldn't be hard with that "up-do" of hers. At least the radio pack wouldn't leave a bulge like it did with Bush.

The worst about Palin is that she knows she's astoundingly unqualified but doesn't care.

She and, at least ostensibly, millions of others.
Cue Rod Serling....

Rod Serling would find it too fantastical.
I suspect the Fey bits are better than anything Obama could run. This is a big week for McCain and his bet on Palin will either pay off or get called in.

Fey deserves a Congressional Gold Medal for her spoofs of Palin.

Does Palin really think she's unqualified? I assumed she thought of this as a great tribute to her working so hard.

If Palin was really as unqualified as you say, Obama supporters would rejoice that the GOP has nominated such a dud, rather than complaining so much about her. Methinks the lefties doth protest too much.
As far as the V-P debate goes, I'd be far more concerned about Biden, who has a proven track record -- a proven track record of putting his foot in his mouth. But the Tina Fey spoofs are pretty darned funny!
On a more serious front, the $700 billion bailout plan is being voted on as we speak. It's still touch-and-go as to whether or not it passes. I'm hoping it doesn't, but we'll see.
I heard a leading capital markets attorney talk about it this morning. He didn't say if he thought it was a good or bad plan, but he said the notion that the taxpayers could possibly recoup this money is "pure fantasy." Looks like all of us are going to be on the hook for a really big tax bill in the years to come.

I'm really torn on this one. Every bone in my body thinks its wrong, but I am not sure its not necessary either.

Obama supoorters *are* rejoicing at the choice. We're just concerned about people who prefer to identify with their candidates, instead of looking for someone able to think and plan in difficult situations. The "barrage" of questions from Couric, as an example, seemed pretty tame; but Palin caved and was quite muddled.
All of this attention on Palin has made things a little easier on McCain, too. Another cause for concern.

Well, that's how it's being sold, Geoff. Proponents say that if we don't do this, then the entire lending economy could collapse.
Of course, there's no way to know if those dire predictions are true. We're in unchartered territory.
But I can't help but be skeptical about this. I'm certainly opposed to it on principle -- too much government interference and way too much spending. And as a practical matter, $700 billion is a huge amount of money, even by the standards of the federal government. Is it possible that this "cure" could do more harm than the crisis it purports to fix?

Bruce here is the thing, as democrats we are excited he picked Palin because it does help our campaign, she is out of her league on so many levels. But as an American I am scared shitless that she could one day be our president, I want my guy to win, but if he doesn't, when the other side puts up stupid people , like Bush and now Palin, we all suffer.
At least the radio pack wouldn't leave a bulge like it did with Bush.
*Crap and that's why I voted for him, because I thought he was packing. LOL
*Joke
