How does everyone like watching the talking heads after the debates?  What garbage.

----

I get the impression that 90% of what they say is prepared well before the debate even takes place.

That's why a town hall style debate would be much more revealing.  They couldn't just spout off with prepared little speeches.  They'd be put on the spot and have no idea what was coming.

I'm picturing Tom puffing on a fat, long cuban.

"Wouldn't those that choose to have an abortion be pro-abortion?"

A fair question. I'm opposed to my dentist drilling holes in my teeth, but I
choose to allow her to do it anyway. Would that classify me as pro-drilling?

Really? I imagine the cuban would be more muscular than fat.

But are you really opposed to it then?  If you allow it I would think you weren't opposed.  Now you may not like it, but you aren't opposed to it in that scenario.  People who are opposed to it would be the people who let their teeth rot away rather than get drilled.

Plus, even if you never let them drill your teeth, if you aren't opposed to other people getting their teeth drilled that would make you pro-choice, no?  Are you against other people getting fillings?

"And proving it in court requires a lawsuit, which is what this group is doing. The NRA alleges that Obama's counsel threatened them with the FCC, and yes, if the FCC swoops in and pulls their ads before any libel is proven, that'd be censorship. But the respondents other than the NRA in that article seem to think they have the right to make false statements."

But Michael, the Obama campaign is now trying to use government officials to prevent ads against Obama to be run.  Elected and appointed government officials to persecute someone before a law has been broken.  For anyone that believes in the First Ammendment, that should scare the hell out of you.

I'm personally against abortion, but I admit it has its purpose in this world. However I am definately in the boat that the woman, not the government, has the right to decide. Ultimately she will suffer with it, no matter how easy anyone thinks it is.

I'd say those who feel strongly about freedom of speech have been jaded by the Bush Administration and his fascist-minded apologists.

Obama's campaign is on a roll...

Since I have actually worked an Obama event, they will not allow any signs because of security concerns and signs block the view of others that are there. In the article it states that it is paid by taxpayers and we as taxpayers should be able to do what we want. That is wrong, the campaign pays for the use of the venue. It is like a private party that they allow you to come to, but you have to follow the rules they have deemed reasonable.

If those that want to hold a sign up do it outside in a public area, where yes free speech should be allowed.

But Yes Jeff, Obama's campaign is on a roll.
