Jodi,

I think Obama did a good job, but it was not a major butt kicking like I thought it would be.  McCain did better than I thought, but he seems stiff, never looked at Obama (or the camera), and was mostly rude in his remarks (which some people actually think is a good thing when debating).  I think Obama's was stronger in this debate, but I hope he cleans house during the next session because there are a lot of undecided voters out there and we need a strong message to pull them over to us.

Scott:

The act was passed in 2002. Obama was not sworn in until 2005. I think he
voted against a similar measure in the Illinois State Legislature.

Well What did you all think?

I think they were about even on the economy (neither very good) but I think McCain did much better on the foriegn policy and national defense issues.

Geoff, yes, that's what the video was referring to.  It was a state issue.

My bad. I didn[t watch the video I just looked up BAIPA online. I understood
it to mean the Federal measure. Mea Culpa.

Thought they both were solid.  And for once, it seemed like a real debate. Yeah, there were talking points each of them tried to keep hitting, but it seemed more substantive than prior Presidential debates, which have often left me unenthused.

Still solidly behind Obama.

And the only time the word POV came up McCain wasn't refering to himself!

I'm looking forward to the V.P debate, too.  If we're lucky we'll get the double barrel delight of Palin having no clue what the hell she should say and Biden making wildly bizarre verbal gaffes.

I think they both did well, edge to McCain because he was agressive enough to get in the last word. Don't like he never looked at Obama, shades of angry McCain. I thought since this was going to be the stronger debate for McCain because of the topic, Obama held up very well.

I thought Obama looked very Presidential, I was proud of him.

I thought it was funny Palin didn't respond like Biden did, they sent Rudi as a stand in.

I will say, we watched the local news afterwords and the soundbites they used , Obama came out looking far better. It will be interesting to see what this does.

I support McCain but it bothered me that he never looked
at Obama. I'm not sure what the reason was for it but to
me it came off as cowardly, even though I know he is
not.

I can already see a youtube video in the making from the debate.

McCain kept saying that Obama just doesn't understand.

Obama kept saying he agreed with McCain

Someone is going to clip those sound bites together out of context so you have Obama agreeing with McCain that Obama doesn't understand over and over again.
