I will submit to your read of his policies, Mike, as you know them better than I,  but I don't think, in an actual sense, that they are "free."  As noted if you go to a community college you pay the freight, you get a credit.  So you get the money back but it not like its an free enrollment ("come to our college its free and we have cookies!").  To get the credit it seem obvious (to me) that you have lay out some cash.  Thats how I understood it.  Also my understanding that most community colleges offer two year programs, not four year plans, which means to get a degree requires transfer to a four year school, where tuition would (obviously) be greater.  I'm not sure how he plans to fund these credits but, hey, thats a different debate . . . .

Based on multiple off-line conversations, I know how many of us feel about Scott Richards

Mike, I could care less how you or your imaginary friends feel.  Shall I cut and paste all the vulgarities and nasty things about other posters (not issues) you've said throughout this thread?  I take your opinion with a 3 ton grain of salt and file it away appropriately.

I don't put much stock in hearing about offline gossip sessions enjoyed by any contributors to this thread.  I put even less in the notion of appealing to some audience for sanction of another contributor.  The only arbiter which should matter towards discussion of the issues in this thread, is who brings it...and who doesn't.  And anything else, John or the moderators will rebuke at their discretion.

I get uncomfortable when people I might debate feel the need to ask succor from some unknown knitting-circle of old women or reference private conversations concerning another.  It makes me want to buck the waves at their expense.  I mean, why in the world would anyone tip their hand about private conversations they didn't have the fortitude to express openly?

As it is, I enjoy reading Scott's honest opinion, honestly expressed.

I was watching abc morning show today and they brought up something that I must give props to McCain, he has not used his son's service to our country as a political gimmick, they were comparing how Palin keeps bringing it up and McCain never mentions it.

Man I wish he had picked a moderate republican or an independent as a running mate. I was so relaxed when I thought Palin was just that.

I said the samething to my brother the other day and he reminded me that my vote doesn't count, but where the votes do count, she sells.

Jodi, we've all seen the letter written by Anne Kilkenny about Sarah Palin.

Maybe these two letters from other Wasilla residents will help put your mind at ease.

This one from Debbie Frost

And this one from Butch King

Reading those comments I don't think they will put Jodi's mind at ease.

Not necessary, Scott.  The very last thing this thread needs, being FULL of intriguing political thought on a routine basis from ALL around the world, is to be even further broken down into a literal roster of two 'teams' of competing voices.

OK I feel dumb but I haven't seen this. But to be honest I usually go on what the person has said themselves and what issues they support and vote on.

I know there are those that like this woman and there are those that hate her, but I just don't like what she has taken a stand on and her belief system. It didn't bother any of you that the theme of the RNC was "service to country" and she mocked Obama for being a community organizer several times, as did others? I was joking with a friend and I asked her, when did community organizer become as disdainful as crack dealer?  LOL
