Go to bed, wake up, and five pages are added. Amazing. Thanks Mike for answering my question. I wish I could watch all of the utube clips that are posted but it ain't going to happen.

To go way back on the affirmative action topic, over here in China they will not hire someone they feel is unattractive. When asked why, they say that the people working next to the ugly person will not enjoy their own job as much so it is better to hire more attractive people. They will also avoid hiring girls who are too short.

Also, at the international schools, they always ask for a photograph of the applicant. When I asked why, they told me it was to make sure the applicant was white. And of course, not ugly. Good thing I didn't have to send a picture to my current job. Got the white part down but that's it. :)

This came up in spectacular fashion during the opening ceremonies of the Olympic games.

Yeesh.  I'm the ugly guy at my job.  Thankfully I'm in America.

Tom, just look in the mirror and say, "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and, doggonit, people like me!"

Absolutely incredible commentary by Keith Olbermann:

It's 8+ minutes long and it does not pull any punches.

And that's why I am a fan of Olbermann.
