The definition identified in the "Hawkings" post was not an accurate
depiction of Affirmative Action but a characterization intended to
incite white resentment.
---
The odd footnote that I like to bring up in the Affirmative Action debate is that with regard to education, although it was frequently characterized that white students were being passed over for minority applicants, when states, such as California, implemented bans on racial preferences for public university admissions, the percentage of white students that were admitted to the state college systems dropped as more Asian-American students were being admitted.

I'm glad to hear from you on that, Greg. I learned a lot from that whole
situation. I'd still debate you to the death on the issue we got into (because,
you know, you're wrong and all), but I'm glad we got communicating again.
It's a large part of why I think continuing to respond to someone whose
input you're ignoring is incredibly childish. When I put you on ignore I
immediately regretted it, and reversed the decision as soon as I realized that
it denied me the right to continue to debate your points.
If you're going to ignore someone, well, ignore them. Popping off
potshots while you've still got your fingers in your ears is just dumb.

>> I have avoided flamebaiting entire sections of the membership of this board.<<
I apologize for that it was not my real intention to flame bait, again, I thought it would provide some chat but not attacks.
Live and learn. My 199 to your ~5438 posts.
>>Kind of an inane question to ask.<< It is a legitimate question to anyone that post anything that refs outside this forum. Are you so perfect as to never incite?
* And for the record I never ignore anyone, but there is always a first time I suppose.

Sadly, no. I've even done it on purpose. Nothing that I'm proud of, though.

You're a nag. Now leave me alone before I give you a big hug. Some of my
class, decency and charm might rub off on you.

Haha, same here. I didn't consider that the topic of interest would offend anyone in discussion (and still to this day I maintain that if I ever did judge someone unfairly about their intentions/qualifications, I'd never let them know about it, because ultimately I don't want to hurt feelings in the quest to keep the kids safe from harm). My stance on it is and was purely benevolent (perhaps near-obsessive protection of children) with no desire to insinuate another reason for a person's motivation (even if I wonder why to myself). Anyhow, I value your and others' opinions here as always!

OH Hell NO, we are not going down this road again, I think Todd is kind of warming up to me.
