There would have been no bad intent involved.  No one would intentionally tell someone in a wheelchair to stand up.  I'm just surprised he didn't notice the wheelchair.

If Scott wasn't ignoring me right now he'd see we just agreed on something.

The look on Biden's face when he relaized the guy was in wheelchair was priceless though -- its why you have to feel that Biden was legitimately embarrassed.

The fact is that he has used the Lipstick on a Pig line countless times BEFORE Palin ever compared herself to a pitbull... so MAYBE she chose the pitbull line to set him up, right? Yeah... it was all a conspiracy to make Obama look bad.

Expalin(that was a typo that seemed to work) to me how comparing yourself(and her beloved hocey moms)  to a much villified dog(banned in many cities for their aggressive behavior) is worse then being compared to a long domesticated animal whose HEART most cloesly resembles than of a human being? IF he wanted to take a swipe at her-- and I have watched him time and time again refuse to do so, and ONLY criticize her policies-- he could have called her worse. No-- wait-- McCain LAUGHED when one his supporters called Hillary THAT word(see the pittbull ref. and think of it as a FEMALE).

Christopher said,
Those who claim he definately wasn't referring to Palin must be the ones with great mental powers.

While I don't say he definitely wasn't referring to Palin with his quip...I prefer to err on the side of caution.  Reason dictates that it is most likely that the statement was meant in the same way it has been said so many other times.  It is not as if he has a history of spiteful comments behind him.

This way of thinking will keep me from assuming that when some Republican speaker talks about the facts being there in black and white, that they are somehow referring to race in a backhanded swipe.

Geoff, a five hour lecture on tax law would have been my last one ever. It was bad enough attending those when I was a student!

What's the origin of "lipstick on a pig"?

I agree that Biden made a legitimate mistake.  No harm was intended, but the point is that everything any of the politicians do in the next 2 months is going to get blown out of proportion and they really need to be more careful in this new time of blogs and YouTube.

Excellent point Kevin Hagerman !

We as viewers need to be able to separate the wheat from the chaf here. (and no, that is not a veiled reference to class struggles).

Is it really news or not...does the content of the message being sent by the media outlet speak more about the agenda they want you to perceive than it does about the candidates?  I would prefer to watch coverage on BBC if I could.  American media outlets are no longer news driven.  The vast majority of them are all about the money and news as entertainment rather than honest solid reporting....ugh!
