Thirdly, if you know Snopes at all, they are not prone to publishing things
like that without also addressing any inaccuracies in the information
presented.

Obviously, there are items in the note that are more or less opinion - i.e.:
"good at keeping secrets". But, as I said above, there are a large number
of statements that can be verified contained within as well.

In the unusual case that Snopes has published this without yet finishing
their usual meticulous fact-check, they will update the page if any of
those statements prove to be in factual error.

If they do, you can trust that I will re-post the update.

Al, I work with a utility company.

Gas station?  Fightin' words, Mark. ;)

When I was sixteen, the owner of the two-bay outfit I worked at (clean up, go'fer, and parts washing, but with unavoidable customer contact) took great pains to impress upon me, almost daily, the fact that I worked--as long as I spent my afternoons working for HIM--at an independently owned Exxon service station!

_______________

Michael, here's another 'quote':

"Badges?  We don' got no badges..."

It offers just as much relevance to our exchange.

It's a difficult time?  Sure.  With the newly released estimates, the unemployment rate has increased by almost a full 1.4% in just FIVE months, and it is only going to get worse before it gets better.

Having said that, what's your point as it relates to my own?  Monte, never yet has the world seen so many people live their lives at such a prosperous level for such a long period of time as has occurred in our nation.  This is indisputable.  Now, tell me, did the nation collapse in the early or late nineties?  Both were, after all, periods of recession.  Hell, we could enter an extended period of recession like the great depression, and it wouldn't alter the veracity of my comment with regard to either the past or the present.

Michael - if you ever tire of utilities, I'm sure somebody needs an economist.

Dan:  I realise this is only hearsay without proof. But she seems the type to me.

I.E., she's in the wrong political party.  Hence, presumably a racist.

I know that this thread doesn't have thousands of people reading it and my request is not going to make or break this election, but I am putting a challenge out to every single one of you.

Democrats, Independents and Republicans take a few minutes and look at what each candidate (presidential and VP) voted for and supported, I mean what they actually voted for , not the soundbites you get from TV and the internet or the radio, actually find out what they did. There are plenty of sites that give very easy to read, voting records.

You don't have to come back here and answer questions about what you found, this is too important to not do this. Be an informed voter on the actual voting records, not what your candidate wants you to hear or the other candidates want you to hear, find out on your own. Someone may say they are for something because they think that's what you want to hear and they vote the exact opposite. As we know politicians can lie. Don't stand for it. If you do this I will promise that when you make that vote you will do it as an informed voter and will have a peace of mind.

Edited to add: if anyone comes back with a "hey here's a question, how long did you french kiss your dad?"  you are an ass. LOL

I have no idea how accurate this is. It's clearly pro-Palin biased.  But since we've already broken trumps on hearsay...does it matter?

I know, what i mean is, the typical pastor

************

No, the typical pastor does not say god is going to strike down America because it is a nation of sinners.

Al,  I think this is the extent of Snope's fact checking:

"The article was indeed written, as claimed, by a Wasilla resident named Anne Kilkenny, who says she has known Sarah Palin since 1992."

They make no claim about the veracity of anything in the note.  It might be true; it does look a lot like all small town politics I've ever seen.

WILLIAM: That's because the typical pastor is afraid to preach what the Bible
says. But that's a different matter...

KEITH: As I said, it's typical of Snopes to post any factual inaccuracies they
find in pieces like that. Perhaps an update is in the offing.
