The bullet hit Roosevelt after passing through his steel eyeglass case and a copy of his speech. He decided the wound wasn't serious and spoke for over an hour using the bloody copy of his speech as a visual aid. He lost the election but it was the best showing ever by a third party candidate.

It shouldn't be hard to find a picture of her hunting. I've seen one of her and a caribou she had just shot.

I have no source, well, except these quotes from Bush:

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

"I am truly not that concerned about him."
- G.W. Bush, repsonding to a question about bin Laden's whereabouts, 3/13/02

But more to the point, I'm just using logic - what possible reason could explain why we don't have him other than, we're just not looking anymore?  (er, or ever?)

Don't get cute about my beliefs and intentions.  You want to know?  We sent a man to the moon, and we were warned about OBLs attack (not paranoid conspiracy theory - this is covered in the 9/11 report) but we chose not to act on it.

Now, back to smearing someone's character with snide questions,  I'd love to know why you're still lurking on the JBF when you cleary have such distain for the guy.

I hope she had a license to hunt for that caribou, otherwise, she's going to prison!! I already heard about her fishing without a license. What's next!?

There's a jaywalking rumor too. She could do hard time for that.

Hey - come on, it'll be win-win if she goes to the joint.  Dems will be happy that she's off the streets, and Repubs can fantasize about some sort of Skin-a-max chicks in prison scenario.

It's win-win.  Come on!

You telling someone not to get cute about someone's beliefs and intentions is, cute. What possible reason could we have for not having him yet, other than the reasons we were already talking about? That he's been in hiding and "we" don't know exactly where he is, other than, maybe he's somewhere in Pakistan, which we cannot attack, because, yes, they have nukes, and we don't want to use nukes, or provoke someone else into using them. If Obama knows something, or thinks he knows something about the location of OBL's cave, and he wins, I hope he gets a missle or a bunker buster right into the mouth of that cave ASAP. I hope McCain does the same, assuming he knows where it is, as Obama seems to be saying.

Even if I "clearly had disdain for JB", which isn't clear to me at all, I'm still at the JBF because I'm a fan of John Byrne's work. I'm here to offer whatever info I can to other fans of JB's work. I like to hunt for comic books, and hunting comics for JBF members is my hobby at the moment. I like discussing stuff with other JBF members. What else do you want to know, and why do you keep making this so personal?

Attack Pakistan?  Are you kidding?

What would India say?  Russia?  China?  The world?

That is opening Pandora's Box even further than Bush opened it by attacking a nation that had not attacked the United States.

Russia would have a field day, more than the one they are already having because the US has lost credibility in the eyes of the world and the days of the US being the Big Dog on the Block who doesn't need anyone else are gone.  We need the world far more than they need us.  Just look under your DVD players, etc.  And, they give us the money to buy them with too.

Dave - you tried to paint me a kook - I'm just tossing it back at you.  I will not stand for attacks on my character.

And, "we" do know where he is, at least according to things like this: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/4110786.stm

What would India say?  They'd say HOORAY!  Russia, China, the world?  That might be different.

Here's the thing - you'll note I said that we don't need to send in troops - so... not sure why either of your responses reflect that.

No one is saying we should nuke Pakistan, but you can't say "well, we can't anger them because they have nukes...!" - Yeah?  So do we.  And so does India, and India's are aimed right at Pakistan.

Dave: Source? If you really believe that, I'd love to hear your positions on the moon landings and the alleged conspiracy of US complicity in the 9/11 attacks.

Mike:

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

"I am truly not that concerned about him."
- G.W. Bush, repsonding to a question about bin Laden's whereabouts, 3/13/02

Dave where is your response to Mike's source? The bold part was the part that came across as condenscending.

I read the actuarial odds on McCain dying in office were 1 in 3; but that is not taking into account any particular circumstances, two biggies of which are:

(1) He's had cancer, and is presumably at risk of further occurrence.
(2) He'll be under the constant care of the best doctors in America.

Do those cancel out?  Don't know.  No one does.  Actuary tables only work because of large sample populations, they break down on individuals in unusual circumstances.

Shh... last time Dave and I mixed it up on an election thread, he told me I'd "better watch my back" at the MOC we were going to later that month.

Don't make him angry.

In all fairness, he turned out to be a really nice guy and he took us out for pancakes and we've gotten along since then.

My point?  I know I come off like a prick on here a lot - I get that - but so do a lot of people, and if you're going to be a prick - that's ok, but if you're going to do it and act self-rightious and innocent?  I'm not having it.  It's just a pet-peeve of mine.

I'm not saying don't rattle my cage - by all means - I do it to others and expect it in return.  But don't do it and whine when I respond.  If you're trying to get a reaction, you'll get one.
