OK this is pretty funny I just got an email from a friend who sent me one of those funny emails titled "Reasons to always have a cell phone camera." the second picture was of a friend of my oldest son's, I was standing right behind her when it was taken. (it wasn't on a cell phone though, no one was allowed to have their cell phones with them.) We were in Indianapolis for the Bill Clinton book signing. My god it's a small world!

Here is a picture I took of Erin (the girl in the shirt) , my son and their friend.

Did Bill invite her to his hotel room?

He was very well behaved, I don't know what it is about the man, but he is pretty sexy. When he talks to you , you really feel like he doesn't want to be talking to anyone else.  He was really thin when I met him, he had just had heart surgery.

Funny thing is, he had no idea what that shirt said, no one told her to turn around and show him.

Edited for spelling error

Kudos to Scott Richards for the fine post above (the long post detailing his issues with Obama).  Well-said.

And, since Jodi is posting funny stuff, here's my contribution:

I figured I'd throw this article into this thread since the thread is a general "political" thread or a "can you fucking believe this" thread.  The NY Times reports that the Justice Department's Inspector General has determined that a systemic effort to retain politically conservative attorneys has been in place since 2002.  Applicants whose resumes's indicated support of liberal causes were allegedly viewed as less attractive to hire.  The Justice Department is supposed to be above politics like this.  This conduct, if true, should be offensive to Americans of all political persuasions.

Geoff thanks for posting that, sad to say nothing like that surprises me anymore. Before someone posts, "well the liberals would have done that too". I want to state, I agree completely with Geoffs post. In the justice department I would not want a completely liberal justice department. We need balance and I would be appalled to learn that someone was trying to stack the deck.

I think that happens anyway by virtue of natural human tendencies so at any time "the deck is stacked" based on political or social similarities. For instance, a Harvard guy is going to favor Harvard law grads. Someone who came from Cravath is going to think highly of other Cravath lawyers.   A liberal or conservative will obviously favor liked minded people.  It just happens that way.  To make it a policy, however, is troubling and somewhat discriminatory (though maybe not "legally" discriminatory).

It's politics as usual.  In a perfect world, for every 3 equal level members of the Justice Department we'd have 1 liberal, 1 conservative and 1 moderate.

Fortunately for us, even some of those conservatives appointed were appalled at the partisan things they were expected to do.  If not, a lot worse would have happened than did.  So if you lean left, please thank those conservatives who put justice before politics, and hope that your side would/will do the same!

I don't think its politics as usual when its systemic policy.

Scott:

Does anyone know Mike O'Brien in real life?  Is everything okay with him?  He normally posts several times a page in this thread but it's been 10 pages and a week since he last posted.  I hope nothing's wrong.

His last post in this forum(not this thread) was Sunday night, in the George Carlin thread. Period of mourning, perhaps?

Looks like James Dobson doesn't like the way Barrack Obama interprets the Bible.  Here's the link.

If the New Testament overrules the Old Testament does this mean Levitcus is bad theology?
