It would have been interesting to see if Bush's evangelical base would have abandoned him to any degree had he converted to Catholicism before the 2004 election.

 | I would've thought Scientology -- no physchological entrance exams AND he can lean spiritual "secrets" by paying more, not through prayer or absolution.  Oh well, their loss is Catholicism's gain. edited for spelling (embarrassing...)

Wow, you have nothing nice to say after someone whom a lot of people on this board liked a lot dies... so you say it anyway.  NOT a way to make friends and influence people.

It is good to know what kind of person you are earlier rather than later.

Well, there are those personality inventories that they use to determine if (or
convince you that) you are depressed and thus easier to manipulate. But at
least they are FREE. And not based on any real psychology.

Of course they're not based on any real psychology as Scientology eschews psychology of practically any kind.

Yes, I'm aware. Which makes it ironic that they use a personality inventory
(albeit an invalid one) as one of their biggest recruiting tools.

 | "Of course they're not based on any real psychology as Scientology eschews psychology of practically any kind." Well, only real psychology. The pseudo-psychological methods of scientology are of course praised highly by their active members (as opposed to their apostates.) What is "auditing" after all, but a cheap pseudo-psychological power trip?
