He's going to need more than that to win.  Anything less than double digits won't be good enough.

I believe she is a Boob, that has had a boob job or discovered the wonder bra

early Coulter

You know the saying "You can never be too rich or too thin". I believe at least she proved one of those wrong.

Brian is correct - but I think once he gets out there and communicates with the general public, his numbers will go up.

Note - at this point, there are still a lot of dissapointed Hillary supporters - I honestly, and truly, not condescendingly, believe that they will come back around to support Obama in the end.

Early in this thread, I swore I wouldn't vote for Hillary if she got the nom - now - look - I wouldn't campaign for her - I would never say something nice about her - but honestly?  In the privacy of the voting booth - (and this forum!) - if I, as a democrat, had to make the call between her and John McCain - I'd vote for her.  (well - let's be fair - I like McCain as a person more than I do Hillary!  But I think she'd be somewhat closer to my views, politically)

I think a lot of Hillary supporters who are saying they won't vote for Obama will also come to realize this.  I know they wanted Hillary, but in the end, Obama is more in line with what they want for America than John McCain is.  And if they're going to cut their noses off to spite their faces, well... the jokes on them, isn't it?

Since I am not a man, I will only speak for how I think women who supported Hillary, will do and that is, they will go to Obama because,

  1. I hate saying it, because it makes us seem shallow, but he is really attractive.
  2. We soccer moms are all about our kids and we like to hear someone tell us, there can be a better future and believe it. When I went to hear Obama speak, he is amazing, he has such charisma, there were more women then men in the crowd and every woman was in love with the man by the time they left.
  3. The Hillary supporters are mostly strong democrats and it would kill them to vote McCain. they are mad now, but that will pass.
  4. Women seem less concerned Obama is black.
  5. He seems to love his wife and family. An all around nice guy.  Even though it was a while back, McCain's roving eye will hurt him.

Hillary's campaign called us looking for support, the woman on the telephone  asked if I was going to support Hillary and I told her I felt bad because I was excited to see a woman running, but  I was going to support Obama, she whispers into the phone "I know what you mean I was really torn this year I really like what Obama has to say" This was a campaign worker that said this, so I think once this election gets in full swing women will come to the Obama camp in droves.

Isn't some of the 'Obama is an amazingly compelling speaker' stuff also derived from thesimple  fact that after so many speeches by  Bush(and Gore..and Kerry...and Hilary!) now there's finally a candidate whose voice people haven't gotten tired of hearing...yet?

I don't think so. None of those other people you listed are especially
interesting speakers. Bush might have a folksy charm that works on some
people, but he was never a good speaker. Gore and Kerry were always
snoresville. Hilary doesn't have the charisma of her husband.

Two points worth mentioning, I think.  My favorite AOL headline of yesterday was "Bush regrets tough talk" -- because it made him sound like a warmonger.  Really.  I'm glad that of all the things Bush has to regret, it's his syntax that bothers him most.

I also read yesterday that the Evangelicals are abandoning McCain.  He's only got 55-60% support from them, meaning 35-40% are supporting Obama.  How freakin' weird is that???

If I were Michelle Obama I'd be walking around the White House with a tape measure.

And people call the Obamas elitists now?  Imagine what they would say if she was doing that.  Heh.

Maybe they've figured out that Republican "Conservatives" are anything but.

Jodie, that's Coulter?  From the side she could pass as a man with long hair in drag.

Nancy Reagan tried to get the Carters to leave the White House early so she could redecorate.
