Aren't...uh, hot dog and pie mutually exclusive, unless you have some kind of surgery?

And Jodi, well, we have had some serious flooding in HK as well...

I feel for you.

Our house is safe, we just have about 3  inches of standing water in our yard. But my heart breaks for some people, they lost everything, one house broke off of it's foundation and floated down the river.  The thing is, it's flooding in areas that don't normally flood, so they don't have flood insurance.

I tell you what, I don't know how those that went thru Katrina survived it.

Oh and Tom you never did give me your screen name for that site.

Geoff is a-ok in my book!

I see where Jodi is coming from, though - more people should be outraged - we should be marching on the capitol and running the whole administration out of town on a rail - turn it over to the groundskeeper till  November...

But!  Having said that - Jodi - Geoff, and a few other Republicans participating in this thread are like the old fashioned Republicans who just had different beliefs for what's best for America - not the vocal nuts that have come to be the face of the party in recent times - the corporate whores, the religious fundementalists or the blind loyalists - Geoff is a good cat, like us.  So are a few of the other Republicans participating.

(And those who aren't?  I just ignore those guys.)

I hate to sound like a Pollyanna, but I'm pretty excited that I'm having rational discussions with intellegent people on a political thread on the internet.  In 2004, on this very site, it came down to threats and lasting grudges.  This year's thread is a breath of fresh air!

In the end, I like both Jodi and Geoff, so... I'd like to see you crazy kids shake and make up, personally.

And Geoff, god help me, but Hot Dog Pie is a food creation I came up with a few years ago - it's been a running gag on the forum.  I'm too old to eat such a foul thing now, but... when I was a younger man?  MmmmMMMMmMmmmm... Hot Dogs, chilli, eggs, cheese, in a corn-chip pie crust?  Mmmm!!

Explains a few of my heart attacks and Lipid Panel results, though...

Jodi:

I'm still waiting for you to answer my last question and articulate how
I am "full of crap" for my view of the Clinton presidency but Mike O'Brien
who articulated the same sentiments is not. The only explanation you gave
was that my party (and presumably I) had run over your country.

Mike I know all about your hot dog pie -- I've been here since 2004!
Thanks for the kind words, you are a good egg. I have no qualms admitting
when I am wrong and apologizing if I think I've offended (even when I don't
think I have) because offense is not my intent. That said as it pertains to
this exchange I am in the right.

Agreed (well not the marching part too much excercise . . .) but according to
Jodi if I articulate those thoughts they have no merit since I am a republican
and we are all to blame. So even though I never wanted the war and voted
against Bush in 2004 because of the war, blood is on my hands.

Geoff - my appologies!  I hate to assume that anyone is following my exploits too closely - I prefer to assume that people don't know about the pie!

Can't imagine why! :o) Who could forget something like hot dog pie?

And no need for apologies!
