Oh yeah. It's all about Halliburton. I think Dick Cheney was the gunman on the grassy knoll too

No there was Kellogg, Brown and Root, and lets not forget Blackwater.

How is it people refuse to believe there are geedy enough people to do bad things for billions, but yet we read in the paper everyday someone getting robbed for as little as 50 bucks.

The raison-d'etre of the current crop of Bush Republicans is to re-apportion public money into a few private hands.  The rest had best learn to catch crumbs.

From the article:

Both presidential candidates, Democrat Barack Obama and Republican
John McCain, were absent, although supporters of the bill said they had
sent letters advising they would have voted for the bill.

Sen. John Warner, R-Va., said he had "done the best I can" to get the
message out to fellow Republicans to support the bill on national security
grounds. About five Republicans had agreed to join him.

But some Democrats who had indicted they would back the bill with
some changes drop away after it became clear they would not have a
chance to offer their amendments.

McConnell blamed Reid for cutting off GOP opportunities to offer
amendments and insisted Republicans were ready to consider the
legislation for weeks. The Senate spent five weeks on the Clean Air Act in
1990, an equally complex bill, he said.

"We welcome this debate," McConnell told reporters. "If this is the most
important issue facing the planet, it is ludicrous to think we're going to
do this in four days with no amendments."

Geoff is a super-cool dude - he's like an honorary Democrat

Mike, thanks, but apparently I am double talking lawyer that puts words in
people's mouths? Have you seen me make a personal attack?

Becuase that's a simplistic, lazy argument. There's much more to it than that. I'm not for a second saying that Halliburton wasn't (and isn't) being allowed to profit from this. But Halliburton was certainly not the primary reason for the Iraq War.  Seriously, Republicans are not all twirling their mustaches while contemplating their next evil deed and cackling "bwah ha ha ha."

In addition to words, you also fill people's mouths with organic pie.
