I didn't mean that Obama shouldn't do any town hall meetings -- although McCain is much stronger in those than in a traditional debate format. I meant that Obama shouldn't simply accept McCain's suggestions, don't let McCain call the shots, don't let McCain come up with ideas first (go to Iraq, have town hall meetings, etc) and always appear to follow up to them -- agreeing -- in second place.
As you modified McCain's offer, though, Geoff, that seems OK. Just maybe three town halls and not keyed into the convention.

And, since Mirror-Universe Bush is recognized as the world's greatest head of state, he'll be such a tough act to follow, nobody cares who wins the election there, anyway!
As a top-Yale grad with military experience, successful oil companies and a winning baseball team, the only topper is MU-Bush's skill as an orator with a multi-syllabic vocabulary!

Verily, he doth challenge MU-Dan Quayle in loquaciousness and elocution.
What a shame MU Al Gore lives in a trailer park littered with styrofoam burger boxes...

I have mixed feelings about an unmoderated debate. One could quickly find themselves on the receiving end of the notorious McCain temper. That could go either way. I think you need a ref to keep things on topic.

Mike O'Brien could listen to Obama talk non-stop for 2 hours! As long as Obama didn't discuss the quality of Steven Speilberg's ouvere!

Jodi,
First off, you are one of my favorite people on this board, so don't take this wrong. But, you obviously aren't scared to give an honest answer, so here goes: if a gay male friend of yours wanted to spend the day with your daughter (taking her shopping or to a museum or somesuch), would you feel weird or nervous?
You are a sweetheart!!! Absolutely NOT!!!! I would be jealous I couldn't go too!!!!!!

Word.
Now, Obama talking for 2 hours, discussing the quality of David Lynch's ouvere, with Bob Geldof strumming the guitar behind him, with John Byrne as the court-reporter, drawing the whole thing?
My head just exploded.
