Well, I'd already self-censored any of the comments that might've been taken (accurately or inaccurately, depending on the comment...lol) as swipes, given that the heat of the discussion had cooled.
But, if you'd rather......
I'd sure I can build up another head of steam by thinking back on the bold-faced lies that caused me to leave work nearly 30 minutes late......
And, yeah...it was "Yeah, what he said" 'cuz he hit the nail right on the head (and said it better than I probably would've at that moment). Why be repetitious?

My apologies, Jodi.
When you said you still expected an answer, I thought you meant it.
I won't make that mistake again.

McCain picking a woman as a VP might get him some Hillary supporters...but might lose him some "Only white men are fit to rule" people. Surprisingly, I recently had a conversation with a teenage girl who said women don't have what it takes to be president...
Obama would probably do best with an older running mate, to bring "experience" to the ticket. Then again, maybe that would look like "same old thing" and he'd be better with a fresher face. He could compromise by finding an older governor, who's never served in Washington.

I had mentioned Biden and someone said something about him and it was about a bazillion pages back, does anyone remember what it was?
seriously I think a lot of women feel the " a woman doesn't have what it takes" attitude. My neighbor is one of them.

Wesley Clark is not a bad choice. He balances out Obama's perceived weakness as a military commander, and he's got piles of experience while at the same time he's not a career politician so he fits the "change" model.
I think Colin Powell would be a great choice for McCain. I wonder whether he'd do it?
************************** Interesting statistical trivia: Barring assassination, this year we'll have a senator elected President for the first time in 48 years. In the past 100 years, only two Senators have managed to win the Presidency. Members of Congress typically make for unsuccessful candidates, possibly because people project their dislike of Congress in general onto the candidate.
More often than not in the past 100 years, the tallest candidate wins. In the 25 elections since 1908, the tallest candidate has won outright 18 times, with the shortest candidate winning only 5 times (in 1916 the candidates were the same height, and in 2000 the tallest candidate got the most popular votes but not electoral votes).

You know what, I've heard that from way more women than I ever have men.
No to Gore. Pompous, pasty, flabby windbag. And McCain shouldn't go for Condi...if he knows what's good for him (and I think he does), he'll do everything he can to distance himself from the Bush administration.

It makes sense that McCain would want to "balance" his ticket with a more conservative running mate -- is Bob Barr still available? LOL -- although I wouldn't put Romney out of the pic, yet. Frankly, I could even see McCain picking Lieberman....

Speaking of Barr, will he be the Republican spoiler this year? Or will he and Nader cancel each other out?
