Magneto is such a rat bastard that the prospect of two of them is....not great for our heroes!

Well, I do have one theory but... no spoilers (and its probably wrong!) LOL
My first thought was it's Pietro (which it obviously isn't) as it is in fact two Magnetos -and this is one case where the X-men do not want to buy one and get one free!
I do wonder if Mags has healed up completely from his last exchange with Wolverine. I don't wonder if he will hold a grudge though...

Since it's not a time displaced Magneto, it's most likely an alternate universe Magneto.
Oh boy, oh boy, I hope it's what I think it might be!!!

A lot to unpack! I LOVE the reaction of the crowd- all with their smartphones in the air pointed at Spidey!(If I hear one knucklehead exclaim, "...but there were no smartphones in 1980...")
I have NO idea what's going on with the Magneto scene, but I can't wait to find out!
And the gang's ALMOST all back together! They just need Nude-crawler to join them!
Merry Christmas, JB! I love what you got me- TWO pages! :)

ITEM: I don't remember what happened with Magneto (very old memory at work...) but I saw Kirby's Magneto encountering Ian McKellan. For someone who doesn't do likenesses, your lack of success is a magnificent failure.
ITEM: The D'Bari storyline is fascinating. I wonder if this is going to merge in with the Oracle/Gladiator/Jean storyline. As the D'bari were a member of the Empire, I'll wager that the I.G. can speak their language just fine. Maybe what's left of the Empire can supply the X-Men with some translators. And no, I'm not being cavalier; even for an empire that must rebuild, a box of translators in a closet is no time to take out.
ITEM: Gladiator vs Jean Grey? WOW!
ITEM I saved the best for last - which, of course, is Spider-Man vs Nightcrawler. Some of the funniest dialogue I've read in a LONG time. "Nature Boy"... hilarious! I wish that you were doing a Spider-Man team up book as well as Elsewhen (Elseweb?) because you GET Spidey.
A splendid Christmas present indeed! And a fine holiday season to you, Mr. Byrne.

disgusting animal biology, i love it. both sides are insensitive to each other, and it looks like we're about to experience some truly macabre slapstick.
there is so much going on here. could not ask for more.

I am glad that someone in the crowd recording Spider-Man's departure from the scene knows how to turn the device for widescreen. LOL! Cool pages!

I have to say, JB, you are defying expectations at every turn (at least for me)! I assumed you'd quickly and decidedly wrap up the Phoenix storyline to remove the Starjammers/alien aspect as quickly as possible. Nope. I thought finding and reuniting with Jean would be the main plot for at least 2 issues. Nope. I thought you would "reset" the team and start from a new normal. Nope. Hell, when Spider-Man was planning his capture of Nightcrawler and thinking he had to get the timing right, I thought that of course he would, only to have the next page appear and find out he would not. I have no earthly clue as to what the hell you are doing or planning for this run and I love it!
As for Magneto, I had no idea what was going on until I read your comment and went back to look at those panels. When I paid attention to what was *behind* him, I thought "What if...."?

There were plenty of Oohhs and Ahhs in my head, rest assured. Spinning minds don't type well, and there's no presumed well intention or innocence on the internet concerning a precocious, undeveloped comment!
My brain was still hammering away at the idea of Kurt's escaping his hospital gown. It's the first I've seen of it, however, I haven't bought an X-Men comic since early Silvestri. Very cool idea, JB.
RE: the snake-like pattern of the pages- is this a new idea, as well?
Also, I truly despise Magneto, and hope he gets his ass kicked every time I see him.
