I think Angel was born with a mutation that strongly resembles wings. But he’s clearly not avian in any way. That his wings are separate entities from his arms underscores that.

Working today on a shot looking down on a New York street. Once again drawing my toy cars, and seeing that, yup, even doodled in fairly roughly these are a vast improvement on the generic American automobiles I used to draw!

Regarding Stan's "one power per mutant" rule, I was wondering about Franklin Richards. He's manifested a plethora of different powers over the years.
Also, what about Aurora and Northstar? The can fly and move at super-speed (even when not flying), plus they have the tandem thing where they generate blinding light.

The light flash—well, that’s a mystery, isn’t it? Something unexplainable to get people scratching their heads.
