Wait wait wait...I know!

A few months down the line, when Spider-Man is back to "normal",
someone will stumble upon the armor, and ta-da...!

The Iron-Spider becomes the next big thing at M*****! Starting off with
the first 12-issue arc, "Who is the Iron-Spider?"

Can't wait...

Sad idea but it will probably happen.

Well, The Other was the final nail in the coffin for me. Goodbye ^^*****! Hopefully, when my sons are old enough to start reading comics they will start publishing Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four, again. Until then, thank goodness for the Essentials & Masterworks collections.

Or the Iron-Spider will become the next big Spider-Man villain (like Venom did).

That'll teach Spidey not to try any other costumes!

____________

Seems like no matter what costume Spider-Man switches too, ends up
getting used by someone else, somewhere, sometime.

Venom being the obvious one, but does anyone remember Swingers? (I
think that was the name) four other characters adopted Spider-Man's
alternate hero guises and ran around as a group...groan

But they've already done this. Captain Universe. IIRC, didn't Pete say he didn't much care for flying? Of course, he always said he wasn't a team guy, either, so...

Okay, how long ago was the Captain Universe story?

Some guys got into a classic fanboy debate about this over on Newsarama, but would any normal person really think he's gliding in those images?  He's really flying.

Maybe a normal person would if they read the accompanying text that will appear on the page of the finished product.

The saddest part about that:
When I was looking up some sales figures the other day THAT was on one of the list.  It sold over 110,000 copies for the first issue.  WTF?!?  THAT WAS AFTER THE SPECULATOR CRASH!!!

It's only temporary.  Could be fun for awhile.

True, he did fly there, but that was pretty different-he could basically do anything he wanted.

This is like the suit, with its extra powers (IIRC, they implied it made him stronger, it made him angrier, and it created its own webbing, not to mention could zip on and off), but on steroids.  In some ways, the alien suit is the more radical thing.

I'm actually interested in why he gives up this suit to go back to the normal one.  See, everytime I get wary, they hook me again. I'm interested in what happenes between him and Iron Man, and how everyone reacts to this suit in the books.
