To my mind Ultimate Spider-Man lost its direction about the same time as the first movie. Noe it seems to be how many "Ultimate" versions of Marvel Characters can we add per arc. I have to admit is has turned into an exellent way to maintain copyright and trademark for thier IP.

Just when I thought the new costume couldn't get any more ludicrous:

Why just 3 mechanical arms. That adds up to only 7. Spiders usually have 8. Unless this takes place within Stephen King's Dark Tower universe, this makes no sense to me.

That claw coming out from under the nether region is so wrong.

Of course Liefeld's a creator, same as JM Straczynski's a creator and Peter David and Erik Larsen and...sorry, it's just one of my pet peeves. You can dislike someone's output, but denying that a particular person has even produced anything always seems really pissy to me and makes me less inclined to take the poster's criticisms of that creator seriously.

Apparently the Image Machine has worked its brainwashing on you quite well. "Creator" is a word traditionally used to describe someone who -- get ready now, this may be a difficult concept -- creates. There is a void, someone comes along and introduces something that did not exist before, and creation has occured. Turning Spider-Man into the latest of many is not an act of creation. Doing the latest of 372 spins on the X-Men is not a creation. Taking an existing character and giving him/her a different name is not an act of creation.

Most of what is done in comics these days is extrapolation, not "creation". (And, yes, of course I include my own work.)

The Beavis and Butt-Heads of the comic reading
audience went berserk when I drew an aircraft that
seemed to be aimed at a monster's butt. Let's see if
their innate hypocrisy allows them to overlook
this work of genius.

Who drew that? The shading and such reminds me of Hitch.

So, is DC going to call their lawyers over the obvious (to me anyway) similarities to the new Blue Beetle design?
