Maybe they'd keep it around if JMS's protege is allowed to write the title. Y'know, like what they do with that Arana: Spider-Kid title.

That's too bad, I really enjoyed Spider-girl.

It is a shame but it did last 100 issues (maybe it will be saved again, who knows)

It may be -- but it's not a "sketch". A sketch is a quick, unpolished drawing.

Egad...I DID type "sketch", didn't I?  Ah well- as a buddy says, "live and lose..."

So now that they're going to go literal and make him more and more like a "real" spider, will he be shooting webbing from his ass-end?

Or is that area reserved for producing their ideas?

Are you sure? I remember hearing just recently that the title was still safe for at least another year.

EDIT: It appears to be true. It's up on Newsaramicon.

I'm falling behind here. Did I understand that this d00d who eats Parker's eye is a vampire?

He's some sort of animal totem energy vampire thing, "the most powerful enemy Spider-Man has ever faced", etc.

Thanks, Jason. Not a literal vampire, then.

Spider-girl has been cancelled

*************************

That's really sad, if true.  At ^^****, all the good books get cancelled or ruined and the bad s*** just keeps right on coming.

Thanks, Joey.

From wikipedia: re Morlun

Morlun had the ability to drain the life force from anybody he wished through physical contact. Depending on the power of the individual he drained, Morlun would then regain a degree of vitality and strength. Without periodic feedings, Morlun would age and weaken.

Morlun had some degree of superhuman strength and durability, although the degree of this is open to debate. Morlun certainly had abilities beyond that of normal humans, as he was depicting as lifting massive objects and surviving what would be lethal circumstances. Peter claimed that Morlun hit harder than any foe he had ever battled, including the Hulk and Thor. However, since Morlun was draining his life force from him, it is likely that the resulting power drain made Morlun's blows feel more powerful than they actually were.

Morlun has walked the earth for centuries, if not longer, and is a relentless and remorseless stalker. Once Morlun has physically touched somebody, that person is forever "imprinted" in Morlun's senses, allowing him to track his quarry down from anywhere on earth.
