Your art has been pretty awful as of late.  Although we do not expect your work to be as spectacular as "The Dark Phoenix Saga," your current art has just been too coarse and unrefined.   It is only Gail's writing that is carrying this book right now.

Uh, would someone give me a hand here -- it seems that "Alvin" somehow got his head stuck up his arse and he can't get it out . . .

The reason why I didn't buy Action Comics was that when your run began I was already reading too many series each month.

Is this run to be released in trade anytime soon?

BTW, you all realize that "Alvin Patrie" is an anagram -- our newest poster appears to be none other than a pseudonym for that notorious band of Internet spammers, Intra Lapel IV.  I thought we'd seen the last of them when the Swiss authorities apprehended the leader of Intra Lapel III, but apparently the multi-headed hydra has sprouted a new leader to replace the old, thus resuming their campaign of Internet-dispersed misinformation.

Readers beware!  Don't feed the trolls!

Good news at least--no more Nelson butchering JB's pencils.

I sincerely hope DC has the good sense to get him onto another book ASAP!

If this Alvin Patrie is real, let us respect his opinion. If his opinions bother you so much, just ignore him in the threads.

I often feel with the rules laid down here, we aren`t allowed to voice our opinions on byrne`s work and only allowed to comment on stories we like of his.

of course, coming on to these threads and blantantly saying that this stunk, and that was worse and blah, blah, blah then an insult is unneeded and no matter how bad, it is an opinion.

believe me, there are plenty of bad opinions of byrne based solely on his spider-man work. do we need these people here? well, i don`t think they want to be here anyway. but being on the fence as an administrator every time someone says something negative is also unneeded.

...and that conlcludes my two cents rant

Uh...no. That would be like me inviting a random hobo into my apartment and respecting his desire to take a shit in the middle of my living room. There is a difference between having a legitimate reason for criticism and just saying 'you suck because you suck, lol tight bye'.

Jay, thats a pretty lame simile and i don`t think we need to bring hobos into this mess. They have their own problems. Also, we don`t know if what Alvin was saying is him just spouting off to rile people off. Alvin does have legitamite reasons for his claim, at least, I think so.

One, it's not lame, it's a good equivalent. Two, what 'legitimate' claims does he have?

Alvin:  With all due respect, I really have to say, John, that you are extrememy conceited.

****

JB:  Based on what?

***

Fair question.  There is nothing in this thread where JB acts conceited.  He seems disappointed to not be continuing and that he wasn't aware of all the facts of his assignment ahead of time.

But, nowhere does he say anything about how great his work is or that he is better than someone else or something like that.

There are two works that fans say are low points in Byrne`s career; and that is his Late Spider-Man stuff and his Wonder Woman.

I have plenty of his Wonder Woman stuff. I got it based on his name and experience soley. Its okay.

I have never read his Spider-Man stuff, but I doubt it`s that bad.

But, people do have their opinions, Byrne says that his Spider-Man sold better and was better than often thought, I`ve heard this in interviews and on the faq I believe. And yet, his Fantastic Four stuff is great and he downplays it.

Now, lets see everyone flip out and try to dissuade me. Its quite possible to, these claims I`ve made may be and probably are wrong.

Hold up there poncho, I still want to see the 'legitimate proof' of JB's conceitedness. Tell you what, it doesn't even have to be in this thread. Just something that JB has actually said, not something that your brother's best friend's sister's uncle's girlfriend heard at your local shop, not something that some bitter 'professional' (bitter because he or she didn't get offered one of the gigs that JB did) claims happened - something JB has said that shows he is conceited.

Here's something else you fucking merit badge agenda followers can do - read the goddamn FAQ, and compare what's in there with previously published interviews, or what JB has said before. It's always consistent - you know why? Because it's easy to be consistent when you aren't lying.
