Since I feel like I started this bloodbath, here's where I based by opinion.

From http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=6048
JB: "The next team -- and I have no idea who they are -- could be folks you all want to see, or, at least, more people want to see than wanted to see Gail and me. Or they could be the worst team ever put on any title, but WIZARD will declare them 'HOT!' and the knuckle-draggers will lumber into their LCSs and buy multiples of multiples."

This is my proof, John.  You are calling out those who don't like your art and prefer the "popular" and "top 10" creative teams.   Maybe there is a legitimate reason why you are not on those top ten lists.  Knuckle-draggers?  Come on.

You were also prejudging future creative teams, making them seem inferior to you already ("worst team ever...").  Who knows, maybe they will be far better than you and Gail.  Give them the benefit of the doubt (instead of the conceit).

JB: "
Gail and I were hired, tho I was not told this when I agreed to do the book, or I would have declined, to 'fill the gap' between one team and the next"

I'm sure that you, of all people, should know that this is a business.  I see your departure on Action as an effect of your lackluster work rather than DC misleading you.  Of course, you are unable to see it this way.

I stand by my statement that your current art is awful.  I really like your work on X-Men, but the latest stuff has just been bad.  It is my opinion, and, despite this being a Byrne worship site, I want to voice it.

And by the way, for those who have theorized about my legitimacy (it was an amusing string of ridiculous comments), I am not hiding behind anything.  This is me.

I disagree completely with your assessment of the art on Action Comics. Nelson's inks have been disappointing (to say the least), but if you take a moment or two to look at the pencil scans in the gallery here, you'll see something fairly beautiful to behold. In my estimation, JB's art has done nothing but improve over the years, and if that flies in the face of fickle fandom at large, well, that's fine, too.

Alvin,

It seems to me more like you read that wrong.  I actually see it as JB speaking against certain popular current trends, and in this instance I agree with every word.  This actually has nothing to do with Byrne's work on Action, but with creator rotation, hype (a lot of which WIZARD is in fact responsible for), and speculative purchases with hopes of making a quick buck - all of which I, as a fan, find to be harmful to the medium and industry.

Fine Alvin, voice your opinion, but when you phrase it like fact: "Your current art is awful, ...the latest stuff has just been bad" It comes across less as "just my opinion" and more as pure troll fodder.

This is also a big old load: "I see your departure on Action as an effect of your lackluster work rather than DC misleading you."

Is Gail and Berganza leaving also because of their "lackluster work"? You don't know what you're talking about.

And you really think this is a bloodbath? This ain't nothin'.

Alvin has also selectively chosen to ignore the first part of JB's statement where he says the next team may be people we all want to see, or at least want more than Gail and him. How conceited...

There's a little note next to the post time in all posts that says, IP logged. I, and all the Mods, can see the IP in every post, and can check them out if need be. Jeff keeps track, and can block certain IP's, if need be. Nothing to worry about.

Trevor, I wasn't including you because you didn't just come here to say Byrne stinks, or whatever. Or, did you?
