So, I shouldn't have given Alvin any benefit of the doubt, and quickly deleted his post? I thought about that, but decided to give him a warning instead. No private warning, thanks. If you talk the talk, you need to be ready to back it up. I still don't know exactly what you mean by "threats". If someone talks smack, they're going to get some smack back. Automatic deletions aren't my thing, unless it's really obviously a troll attack. I still think this Alvin is a troll, but I'm willing to see where this goes.

There are two works that fans say are low points in Byrne`s career; and that is his Late Spider-Man stuff and his Wonder Woman.
I have plenty of his Wonder Woman stuff. I got it based on his name and experience soley. Its okay.
I have never read his Spider-Man stuff, but I doubt it`s that bad.
But, people do have their opinions, Byrne says that his Spider-Man sold better and was better than often thought, I`ve heard this in interviews and on the faq I believe. And yet, his Fantastic Four stuff is great and he downplays it.
Now, lets see everyone flip out and try to dissuade me. Its quite possible to, these claims I`ve made may be and probably are wrong.
I'm trying to find 'evidence' of JB's supposed conceitedness in here somewhere, and it's not happening. Are you using some strange form of the term that I'm not aware of? Help a fella out and explain it a little better for me.

By threats I just mean that I don`t want to be in fear that if I state something that may not be in favor with the majority, I may have people pouncing on my back saying, "hey man, you keep talking that way and you`re outta here."
I mean, I`ve heard of rules and regulations, but I don`t want it to be censorship.
With that said, I think that the deletion idea was a bad one because it is what I don`t want to happen. I tell ya, the things that make you go hmm. (sorry, i love quoting that song and having people, going what are you talking about?)

Jay,
You know, perhaps conceited wasn`t the right word. Its just that when people who have been rational about Byrne`s work on Spider-Man and say that it wasn`t as good, instead of going, "I`m sorry that you didn`t enjoy my retelling of Spider-Man`s origin" he`ll say, you didn`t like it because you didn`t get it! or something to that effect. That sounds stubborn to me. If you look at the end of every tenur that he`s had on a comic they`ve all ended sour. (this excludes maybe his fourth world stuff)
Also I read the interview he did on comicbookresources.com right when I was really in the vibe of he`s the only good comic book now and I read the interview and he kinda came off as a jerk. being very short with the interviewer at times and stating rude things without reason.

Can you link this interview, or cut and paste? I don't think it's unreasonable to request exact sources when you're making pronouncements like this.

I see. Well, I don't think you need to be in fear, Trevor. However, if you plan on constantly criticising John Byrne's work, you should be aware that the majority here actually like most of it, and you're going to encounter some resistance. People that aren't fans, and are in fact, outright haters, can go somewhere else. This isn't a soapbox for the masses, it's a club that is privately owned, and John Byrne, like it or not, can kick out anyone he wants. I don't call that censorship, it's simply the way it is. If someone comes into your house and calls you names, you kick them to the curb, and they can stand out in the public street and cry censorship all they want.

Why do you keep calling Jason by the name Jay? Makes figuring out who you are debating a little hard....

Jay,
It`s not at all unreasonable to ask for the link. I regret not putting it there last time.

Big T,
What other Jay would I be talking to? Jay from Jay and Silent Bob? I`m sorry if it is confusing, i`ll rectify this situation for the next time.

Dan,
Am I constantly criticizing Byrne`s work? I had hoped I wasn`t coming off that way.

Eh, I don't mind the 'Jay' part at all, my family does the same thing.
Anyhow, can you point to the quotes in the interview that scream 'JB is conceited/full-of-himself/eats children/whatever' ? Heck, if you can't find any in that interview, just search this site - I'm sure JB's true colors have come thru in his 14000 posts.
