Thanks Matt. Couldn't access that for some reason. Looks like they had a good opening day, not the best, but solid.
In NY, a lot of kids are taking the dreaded Regents exams or other finals this week, and still have school next week. That probably has some effect. Look for a huge weekend.

Record holders not withstanding, a $15 mil opening day is extraordinary. Great sign of things to come this weekend, methinks.

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect around 100 mil by Monday, assuming word of mouth is good going into the weekend.

I thought Batman 1989 was fairly excellent, so hearing reviews like "best of the series" is getting me worked up.
Saturday can't get here quickly enough.

Some burn twice as bright but only half as long... we will see if Batman stays with us thru the long haul.

I note Batman Returns (1992) and Batman and Robin (1997) both made more on their opening days. $16 million. It was Friday, but it was also years ago with lower prices. And Batman Forever made $20 million (1995). Hulk had a bigger opening day as well.

Fridays, with a few exceptions, will always draw more than mid-week. It's not a school night for most, unlike Wednesday.

The five-day openings are good for stuff that's anticipated by everyone,
movies like Harry Potter, the Matrix sequels, Star Wars, Spider-Man 2, etc.
This is a relaunch of a franchise that was trashed 8 years ago. I think the
Friday and Saturday numbers will be more important to watch than the
Wednesday and Thursday numbers.
