I work on a few international projects.
Not one person I work with, even Americans living abroad, thinks this man is
sane.
Not one wants to go to America. This includes conferences.
At some point, someone in government must have the guts to question this
man’s sanity.

Remember the old saying: if you strike at the king, you better be sure you kill him. People, even those who are themselves in power, are afraid of Trump. Of the monster they will unleash if they move against him unsuccessfully. (Yes, he can get worse.)

What do they think will happen to them if they came to the U.S.? It's not like everybody's running around with their hair on fire at the ground level.
Seems like there was a lot of positive feedback from the thousands of visitors during FIFA.

The Republican Party “moderates” I know collectively insist that while
they’re uncomfortable with the mean tweets, they gotta hand it to Trump for
fulfilling longtime GOP projects like overturning Roe and illegally attacking
Iran, while The Democrat Party is worse, having repeatedly nominated
radical socialists like Obama, Clinton and Biden. In short, they have no
principles or credibility.

Although to Kevin's point, everyone who lives outside the US has heard stories about people getting detained at the border and in some cases shunted off to a prison facility somewhere. I doubt it has happened that often, but it happening at all is reason enough to give visitors pause.

My wife's sister lives in the US, and several years ago had
an "oops" crossing the border when they looked at how long
she'd been there on a constantly renewed "temporary" visa
of some sort, and told her she'd have to get stuff changed
and sorted before she'd be allowed back.
Recently she came home for a visit, and I, remembering that
incident, told her she'd best make sure every "t" was
crossed and every "i" dotted, and that she'd best be
prepared to spend a longer time here than she'd intended,
and I don't think I was being alarmist in the slightest.
